Probably a long shot, but you never know if you don’t ask.
Looking to trade my McMillan HTG smear stock for an XM2010/M2010 chassis. This McMillan is not one of the new reproduction smears, this is a true 80’s manufacture smear. Inletted and bedded for a Remington 700 short action, DD Ross bottom Metal. This has standard fill vs the sniper fill, so it’s about a pound lighter than an HTG with the heavy fill. It weights in at just over 2lbs. Amazing stock, and really one of the best I’ve seen.
Now for some interesting trivia on it. The stock has a small special forces pin on the pommel. There is a sticker on the butt noting it is for “Gordy.” Based off of the location, it’s likely this belonged to the estate of Bill Gordy, who served with 7th Special Forces Group.
Looking to trade to help build out my M2010 clone. I have various in progress builds for the following rifles: M40A3/M40A5/XM3/M24 that I might be interested in parts or full builds of, but really looking for an M2010 RACS.
Now for the pictures:
And finally, a shot with one of the new 50th anniversary reproduction smears:
