Does the state of Wyoming have an official date for a P-dog season? or is it anytime anywhere?

There is no season, but I don't think you can shoot them on National Grasslands at all.

classified as a predator, basicly any time by any means. Just can't use a can at hthis time, but it's being worked on.

And don't shoot from a vehicle, from a road, or across a road.

According to Chapt 52 WG&F regulations they are identified as pests- non-game wildlife. No seasons or tags.

The National Forest feds say that you cannot shoot them anywhere on the Thunder Basin National Grassland.

I think it is kind of like the wolf and griz management (cost & regs.) that is mandated by the US government onto the state for federal land within the state. There also was alot of special interst group input (Betty-Eco System Assn.) into the study leading up to the decision. Not to mention that "Mary the Supervisor & Misty the Deputy Ranger appear to have made the final decision.

Bottom line on shooting, the report stated that hunting/shooting alone would not adversly affect the population, but that it could lead to lead poisoning of black-footed ferret which is on the endangered species list.

What about State Land in the Thunder Basin NGL. I wouldnt think the state would care.

I think it has something to do with the black footed ferret as to why the grasslands were shut down.
