I have a trade offer on a rifle/scope combo I have for sale and needed alittle help from you guys. The trade offered is a L3 X200xp LNIB with sales ticket and all paperwork. The system is 10 months old very lightly used maybe a couple of hours total and retail value is about the same as my rifle so the trade is fine value wise. The question I have is I already own a FLIR PS32 which is 320x240 9hz vs the X200xp which is 160x120 30hz.I am wondering will my PS32 blow the doors of the X200xp really bad or will the x200 just be a tad less over performance? I know myself and will end up saleing the x200xp in a month or two if the PS32 is light and day above the X200xp performance wise but if its a solid performer and not to much difference I would be glad to have it around if for nothing else than a good backup thermal. Thanks for any help I hoped maybe someone here has used both systems!

I have a X200XP and have never tried the PS32. With that being said, I think the only thing you are gaining is detection distance and a faster processor.
The FOV on the XP is 11° x 8° compared to 24° × 18° on the PS32.
I do like my X200XP, as it's very simple,fits in my GP pouch and has great detection range. Plus you can add the Night Optics 3x lens.

Wes1 how is the X200xp's detection range on a coyote or hog sized animal? I know with my PS32 I can detect a hog easy at 400-500 yards. The clarity isn't great at that range but I can normally tell what it is by shape and movement and then follow up with NV. I had forgot the X200 FOV was half that of the PS32 thats something to consider also. I do like the faster 30hz and AA battery on the X200xp.

I've picked up 'yotes out to 500 yards, and pigs out to 900 yards. The last hunt I went on, was in East Texas and was in early spring. I haven't used the X200 out West, yet. I think the conditions in West Texas this fall/winter will be ideal,and give a better gauge of performance.(cooler/less humidity)

Yep summer sucks I can tell my detection range on my PS32 is less in this summer heat than last fall/winter. We just leased the hunting on another ranch which is alot more open than my families ranch and current lease both which are heavy woods and river bottoms. The largest field we had was maybe 600 yards accross this new ranch has miles of brush when you get on a high spot you can see 1000's of yards. Thanks for the info!

Wes is giving you great scoop. I had a very similar question about various thermal set ups and contacted Hunter at Modarmory, and he took a lot of time and answered my question very thoroughly.
Always had very good results with Modarmory. My question was also about the xp200.
