So I have a KRG bravo, and it's nice, but I hate how my hand is positioned on the grip. I have somewhat large hands and I can't obtain anything close to a 90 degree angle.

Started looking at the XLR element chassis. Thinking about putting an MDT grip on it. Problem is they are like 6 months out. So I'll be looking on the buy sell trade for a used one.

    Questions:
If you own one, how do you like it?
Are there any big differences between XLR element 4.0, 3.0, 2.0 etc?
Are there any other similar options out there that are comparable in price?

My only criteria really is that I want interchangable grips, and a spot on the 6 oclock position for a pic rail.

    Thanks fellas

I recently switched from a Bravo with vision forend to a XLR Envy. I really liked the bravo but wanted to have more adjustments and more tuneable as well as the night vision bridge since I like to shoot with my thumb over the top and gripping the bag on the bottom. I also have large hands, I wear XL-XXL gloves. I personally prefer the grip of the Bravo since I like to put my thumb on the back of the grip and “pinch” my thumb and trigger finger to fire.

What I have found with the XLR so far is I was able to get the rifle a little heavier and it seems to balance and handle recoils better than the bravo off of bags and barricades. I only have around 100 rounds on it so far though. I also really like how stiff the XLR is and when you shoot it just feels solid.

I still have 2 Bravos and still really enjoy them and will probably always keep them because they feel good and work well for the cost.

I have an original element. I like it enough that it hasn't moved on like my bravo did.

I didn't care for the way the stock adjusted off from the buffer tube. Not sure if they have better options now. Mine wears a 6 position ar stock so I can rapidly adjust LOP between my kid and I.

I've had an XLR JV Pro and every KRG except the C4.

I use KRG strictly because I like the X-Ray/W3 cheekpiece, and being able to move it forward/aft and cutting it to fit my face the way I want to. I can also reconfigure it in any way possible since I have nearly every accessory for KRG.

However, I think the XLR JV PRO that I had pulls ahead in pretty much every conceivable way other than those. XLR balances perfectly, can be stupid heavy, and is a great company to boot.

It's hard to not recommend XLR.

I picked up an XLR 4.0 aluminum, I think it’s a great chassis minus the fact that it came with the low profile mag release. It’s advertised as a hunting/competition chassis yet the mag release is tiny. They can’t sell me the retrofit mag release either. Other than that it seems like it’ll be a sweet chassis.
ETA: I sold my Krg Xray to move to this chassis and I think it’s an upgrade.

i'd bet it wouldn't be too hard to find someone swapping the original for the new hunter dbm

There's probably both for sale everywhere. The 4.0 magnesium is where it's at. Adjustable mag catch and lightweight.

Couldn't even tell you what a 3.0 has but if its a very very good price and you like the buttstock it comes with and the features then go for it

The W3 backend on your Bravo will allow for interchangeable grips. You can do a wide and a thinner. Both are vertical 0°. The W3 backend is pretty close in price to an Element

There's a Element 3.0 used, for sale on Ebay, but the Element 4.0 is now available. What are the differences between the two? Thanks so much!
The only real difference is built in arca rail on the 4.0.
The newest 4.0 has an adjustable mag latch and a shorter mag release. It wasn't on all 4.0s but can be upgraded to have that.

As a follow up, I ended up selling one of my bravos and bought another envy pro and have 2 elements coming. 1 magnesium and 1 aluminum. The mag is for a new build and the aluminum is going to replace my last bravo.

    I am loving these xlr’s

I have my rem700 6cm in an element I enjoy and just put my 6.5cm into and envy pro. I have vertical grips on both. Very comfy.

I was going to get another BA comp but all my accessory weights are MLok so the attachment system necessitating buying all new weights for the BA comp was a turn off.

The envy pro is very stiff. I tried a MDT ACC and it was pretty flexy si I sold it and bought another envy pro.

The xlr elements have some flex if you really push on them.

Sorry for the multiple questions. I had an ultradyne chassis and the barrel was about a half inch from the chassis's end of the forends and if I pinched it the barrel would touch the forend pretty easy.

Have you tried a MDT LSS gen 2? Wondering if that has more or less flex than the XLR?

Never seen the LSS in person.

I haven’t tried to pinch the barrel and forend on my xlrs. I just notice that when mounted to the tripod with an arca clamp my magnesium element is flexy and my aluminum element has less flex but still has some and my envy pro’s I don’t notice any flex.

They are easy to pick up here or on rokslide. I just picked up an element 4.0 aluminum folder with tr2 stock for $525 and my last envy was around $700-800 I think. Not sure why they drop value so fast but works if your buying used.
