So I recently purchased the nrl22 target set from xsteel targets for $349. This is a Rimfire target set. Got them all put together painted and set up for the March course of fire at my house, shot probably around 150 rounds of CCI Standard target ammo total all day at the targets. The target hangers are trashed already from where the targets twisted and spun on the hanger. So I took pictures of everything and emailed X Steel telling them the issue. There response was that i shot them with higher powered ammo than Rimfire to send them the targets back and they would test them. Mind you this set is around 60 pounds probably. I just paid $350 and shot half a day and the hangers are trashed already no that’s a manufacturer issue I’m not paying to have them sent back and waiting. Here’s the pics you can clearly tell the hangers are mild steel and taking a beating from the hardened steel targets. I will not do any business with them again.

So why not tell them to pay for it? These posts all have one thing in common. No one wants to follow through with customer service. Shoot, ask them for a shipping lable for one hanger. When they see that the problem is on their end im sure they would figure something out for you.

They wouldn’t pay for it at all. Kept trying to say I fired more than Rimfire ammo at them. Any idiot can look and tell the target and the hanger is 2 different grades of steel. If I was firing high powered ammo the target it’s self would be damaged.

Interesting. I have shot a match on his land and met the guy. He never gave me the vibe that he would be bad to do business with, but I have never bought anything from him either.

If you joined the Facebook group MN long range shooters exchange (if it still exists) he is a member on there. I am sure if you brought up the issue there that would motivate him to do a little more.

I don’t understand it’s not like I’m asking for a lot. Just send me new hangers with return packaging for the bad ones. It’s not like it’s costing them a ton of money. I paid for a product and expect it to last more than a day of Rimfire shooting.

Sorry to hear about your experience. Touch base with Seth, he will take care of you. He is definitely under charging apparently, hahaha

It’s because they use cheap steel.
Our entire set is premium AR500 steel. Currently it’s all in 1/4” AR500 for a long lasting set. We also have excellent customer service and do not leave customers hanging. Have a free replacement gaurantee on all our packages should you need anything.

They went to Lowe’s bought some flat steel drilled holes in it and called it a hanger. The kyl rack is also steel pipe from Lowe’s it constantly falls apart during shooting and you have to set it back up. A 10yr old could assemble a better designed kit.
