We want to tell you all that we are now an official FLIR Government Distribution Channel Partner. What this means to you? On to clearing up some recoil rating rumors with these systems. I personally had a very nice tour of the FLIR facility outside of Pittsburgh a few weeks back. (Even though I'm not a Steeler fan!) At this little place, they fabricate the WHOLE line of the Govy systems which include the famed AN/PVS-22, AN/PVS-27, ADUNS, T-50, T60, T-70 and yes the T-75's were getting built up. We saw their "shoot room", yes an indoor recoil test room where EACH AND EVERY system they build is shot live fire and I mean every one before it ships out to you.
With all that interesting news, we were informed and shown test data where the whole entire Govy line is rated up to and including .50bmg. Yes, we did talk about the SCAR Heavy and that different harmonic platform that kills many scopes and yes all these systems are also rated for this platform as well. It was good to get real numbers to dispel some rumors out there.
We also were very surprised to learn and actually see the glass optics of these systems actually getting fabricated in house! I was under the impression like most other companies the glass portion was farmed out to Singapore or other locales like 90% of the other NV optics out there. Optics are cut, ground, coated, polished all in house where every QA detail is monitored step by step. These systems are TRULY made in the USA and not a spin of "Assembled in the USA" with components made overseas. I saw everything getting fab'd under one roof! Not many other companies will show you this, even though they say Made in the USA. It was a true breath of fresh air that they employ a great many American citizens building these incredible NV type devices.
All in all, we're very excited to learn even more about FLIR's house, and to be an official Channel Distribution Partner that will assist you all without a 90 day wait for some top of the line gear, and offering some great pricing. PM or email us for this as well. Thank you!
