Brand new rifle:
Remington 5R .308
swfa SS 16x
EGW 20moa base
Burris XTR Low rings

This was the first time out, I did a standard break in procedure first 20 shots. After selling my sps tactical and brand new Stag, i jumped on the next koolaid gun, the 5R. Shooting sub 1/2moa with the SPS tactical, I was really holding my breath with this gun. After breaking in I loaded up:
Nosler Custom brass, new, did not size
175smk
CCI BR2
H4895 41.2-43.3 .3gr intervals
Seated at 2.820"oal
My reloading equitment consists of the Lee anniverry kit, with RCBS scale. I am somewhat intermediate reloader.

Wind Dead, 85 degrees, shots made at 100 yards, off bench with bipod and sand bags. all 5 shot groups

43.0 looked great with good numbers on both sides, I shot 15 more rounds at this charge(5 shot): .355moa .420 .301 .475 .410

This is a fantastic gun! With just basic reloaded ammo and under $1500 rifle, Bought it thinking it needs paint ASAP, but can not bring myself to do it. Its a great looking gun. I'm very happy and I know it can do much better. Hopefully second report to come this weekend

Re: Yet another Reming 700 5R range report

Looks to be a great shooter. I had quite a bit of luck with IMR 4895, IMR 4064, and Varget with the 175SMK in mine. All three loads produced sub .5MOA groups at 223yds.

Try the fed 210s or 210M's with this powder and bullet combination. I think your groups may shrink noticibly from a few of these I have shot with similar loads.
