You know Your Addicted to Reloading When....

Re: You know Your Addicted to Reloading When....

You must be single.... b/c my wife would beat me with it (ha)...

Pics or it didn't happen (j/k)

I employ my 9 year old son to separate brass by caliber.... Wife loves that too.

That's a great excuse to buy the guns to shoot the reloaded ammo...... guilty as charged.....

Re: You know Your Addicted to Reloading When....

...you are asked to leave the range because you have been going through the garbage bins looking for more ammo boxes.

...you have a piggy bank named Giraud and a piggy bank named Sartorius.

...you have never used lemishine in the kitchen.

...the local Fire Marshall has to issue you a hazmat permit to store your powder and primers.

Re: You know Your Addicted to Reloading When....

You take the decapping rod out of all your dies just so you can have another step.

You've reloaded at the table during a family party.

Re: You know Your Addicted to Reloading When....

When you own a Gen2 Prometheus, a Giraud Trimmer and a Forster Co-Ax and are considering buying a Dillon 550 and mounting your Prometheus on top of it because less time reloading = more time shooting.

Re: You know Your Addicted to Reloading When....

This thread rocks... Got another one.... When you got 7 buddies who every year call me to load, chrony, and print the data for their long range adventures. BUT when they are late calling I call them. Just read my signature.

Re: You know Your Addicted to Reloading When....

you can convert grains to grams and grams to grains faster than the neighborhood crack dealer.

you can out trickle and package the same douche loading as he can weighing his junk.

Or thinking where your going to set up your station reflects on the decision for buying the house!

Re: You know Your Addicted to Reloading When....

I'm building a house this year and my reloading room is as big as the master bedroom.

Floor Plan. Reloading room is circled.

Sweet! Tell me you have a benchrest looking out of a window where you can shoot to 100 yards?

Re: You know Your Addicted to Reloading When....

You are correct sir. Planning the bottom left window for that. It is also just 3/4 mile from my 1000 yard range

Is that also a armory/saferoom with adjoining shitter?

Also, nice layout with the non-master bedrooms split to other side.

Re: You know Your Addicted to Reloading When....

A concrete saferoom with Vault door is the smaller room with just 2 lights in it to the upper right of the reloading room. It's the door on the right in the picture below. The 1/2 bath is not accessible from the fraidy hole.

Thanks, I've had this layout somewhat in my head since high school.

3d rendering of the inside. From upper right corner of the living room looking towards the kitchen.

Re: You know Your Addicted to Reloading When....

This was kind of hit on before a little but with just a minor variation. When you pick up brass for cartridges you don't even have equipment for just in the chance you buy a gun in that caliper.

My nook stays in the drawer next to the shitter. I spend more time on the hide than I do reading books with the thing.

Re: You know Your Addicted to Reloading When....

When your dining room has your bench, 2 bookcases full of reloading/gun stuff and all gun related junk yet no dining room table.

When more than 3 friends come over you have to move the drag bag out of the living room to put the chair from your bench for them to sit down.

When Lemishine and Dawn are really the only cleaning products in the kitchen.

When you forget where you put all those one use tools for brass prep.

When your buddies ask why you have 4 dies for a 243.

When your shooting buddy says you have a lot of 50 round ammo boxes, and you say they're full of prepped new Lapua brass.

When you're the only reloader you know with a concentricity gauge.

Re: You know Your Addicted to Reloading When....

Don't know how anyone could be addicted to reloading. I hate it. Just a necessary evil sometimes. The less I have to do it the better LOL

Re: You know Your Addicted to Reloading When....

When the Post Person drives by your house and gives you dirty looks. Seems to have issues with those 50# Flat Rate boxes of bullets she has to deliver every few months.

Re: You know Your Addicted to Reloading When....

When your squad finishes a match, but you hang around and 'watch' the other squads finish up, so you can 'help' them pick up brass.

Re: You know Your Addicted to Reloading When....

When I apparently have a look on my face that my wife knows all too well and asks,"Going to your room?" referring to my reloading room.

Clamp a press between yourself and your keyboard.
Watch TV on the computer, and reload at the same time.

My computer desk already has a gaping hole in the particle board from mounting a press there. Now I got a kickass work bench with a butcherblock top. Trying to figure out where to put a 2nd press.

Yep when your wife asks after supper if your going down, and my loading room is in the basement, we both know where I'm going, down to load. That's when you know your addicted and can't stop yourself! Or maybe it's just finding a better hobby! LOL

Re: You know Your Addicted to Reloading When....

When your fingers are calloused from prepping brass.

When your hands always smell like case lube.

When you resize brass and by feel know that it is a bad case.

When you sit a bullet and know by feel when the neck tension is off.

Yep! That's just what I'm thinking...

Here's one: You hang out at the local Target, Walmart or Home Depot with a cardboard sign that reads:

Will Work for Brass.... God Bless

Re: You know Your Addicted to Reloading When....

When your job interferes with your reloading.

When you have to dig threw your notes to find your lunch in your lunchbox.

Lost track of what I was doing at work because I was thing about my load project.
