Hey guys, good news. We have finally been able to get AZGFD and Ben Avery to commit to us resources. We are looking for help for RO, extra volunteers for general help and sponsors. We at AZPRC will purchase all the ammo. It will be an introduction to shooting and our hobby. 22lr. We have access to some single shot loaner rifles and are looking for guys that have optics on a semi auto 22 that we can use in the end to direct the energy to our sport. Next big obstacle will be finding sponsors for prizes. We are thinking that every kid that comes out should walk away with something. I am open to ideas on this. We will be using steel targets, just for the satisfaction of the kids and we want all to succeed. It will be done on Saturday and we will do 2 four hour blocks. In those blocks we will have 1.5 hours of general firearms safety and then they can shoot for the other 2.5 hours. I think that is about as long as we should run them unless they want to stay and shoot some more. I will buy all the ammo they can shoot. It will be open to kids only. No fees at all. Completely free to all kids. The blocks will be done in accordance with the NSSF "First shots program". Since we are doing it with the AZGFD and NSSF, we get huge advertising at the International Sportsmans Expo and both of their websites. Our goal is to get as many kids as possible so we would be looking for guys to drop off flyers at gun stores, work, matches and any place we can draw kids. Adults will be allowed to attend and be with their kids, but will not be allowed to shoot. What do you guys think? Please, please email me with suggestions and we will start to get it rolling. We are looking at March 5th. I would like to see us get 100 kids. Ages will be established but probably from 5 or 6 to 18?
