I was wondering if maybe anyone else is in the same boat, or if I have some marksmanship issue. I've always run rings on my scopes and have then adjust eye relief on prone, with it usually slightly towards the shooter because when I shoot off barricades my head is usually slightly more straight/rear on the rifle.

With the spuhr/zco, there is about zero eye relief adjustment except for moving it on the pic rail. So I have it moved all the way back on the pic rail right now. And I'm noticing that although I can get a good sight picture on prone, when I go to shoot off a barricade, my natural head position isn't as arched forward so I'm getting a lot of scope shadow. I could force my head forward, I guess I just have always been shooting with my head more upright in the standing/kneeling kind of positions.

I could move the ZCO back about 1/4" but that means the ring would be touching the erector which I think is bad? Or is it safe to do that? I'm worried that doing that will fuck up the parallax knob which I've heard of people getting their knobs bound and I really don't want to break the ZCO.

Thoughts/advice? Anyone else in a similar position?

In the pic looks like you could adjust your butt stock in a little closer maybe.

I could do that, this is one of the newer ACC's and I could shorten it down to 13.5", my other ACC only can go a minimum of 14" so I have both my rifles setup for 14" which has been comfortable in the last year of comp shooting. I might try to run it lower but then the zco/spuhr on my other rifle would exhibit the same issue.

I realized that the actual connection point of the bolt/spuhr can be moved 1 back and part of it overhangs. It didn't interfere with my bolt, so I moved it back a notch, and I moved the scope back. I don't notice any parallax binding. Did some dry fire drills and it feels perfect now. I can even see the level a bit better.

Yep I've ran into this, but in the opposite direction. Spuhr really is the worst case for adjustment because the rings are SO wide. Running a one piece mount with narrower rings like the Nightforce or badger allows more give for sliding the scope around. Of course the most flexible is individual rings that are narrow.

I've gone to using cantilever for most of my rifles, not just my AR's. My TRG is a perfect example, I have to shoot a longer LOP that I'd like because even with the Spuhr direct mount all the way forward I'd still like to get the scope farther forward on my Razor, but there's no option to slide the scope in the rings because they are so wide there's only about 1/8" of adjustment room. I've also seen guys run 0 MOA canti mounts backwards if they have super long LOP. Even my AI AT is right at the limit of it's adjustment if I'm shooting the LOP I want to with Spuhr.
