Those pictures certainly do not look like self defense.

With that having been said, all we are talking about is bond. Judge set a bond, and the K'Shawn Konscience Jimerson posted it.

Jail after arrest is not supposed to be about punishment. Bail is only supposed to be sufficient to ensure your appearance at trial.

"Excessive bail shall not be required . . ."

You’re right. I’m definitely curious, how in the world did K’shawn manage to cough up $50k.

"Detectives told FOX 13 surveillance video shows Jimerson chasing Gray down from behind and hitting him in the back of the head with a large wooden club, then striking him two more times in the head after he fell to the ground. "
that club, looked like a baseball bat, old guy was leaving, and he was attacked.. and murdered..

Like I said, it does not look at all like self defense.

But he has not yet been convicted of anything.

We do not hold persons in jail until trial unless they are a flight risk and no amount of money would secure their appearance at trial. The judge sets a bond amount and if the person can put it up, then they get to leave until trial (maybe with a lot of conditions attached).

Unless it is revealed that he is a flight risk and the judge ignored that, this is not even a story.
