I did a search and didn’t really find an answer. I’m putting together a .22 for MARS this year, it’s a B14r barreled action in a MDT chassis with a EGW 20 MOA base and vortex rings. It’s going to be fitted with a Vortex AMG. The problem I’m having is trying to level the rifle, I put the level on the base and it shows dead on, then I put the level on the rings and there off. Both of the rings and the base all show different readings. I’m assuming I should go with the base level, is this correct?

Five months pregnant librarian INTENTIONALLY strikes motorcycle rider with her car, almost killing him. Moral(s) of the story:

1. I saw the pic you posted from a comp this past week in CO (maybe?) with the S5 on your TacOps rifle and I know you also have ZCO (or maybe more than one) so I thought to ask you as I don't know anybody else with both.

We have gotten scope pics from a couple of sources but there are so many transitions from scope to camera to download to upload to my monitor that its very hard to draw firm conclusions.

You are expert, have a wide range of practical experience with rifle optics, and have both scopes, so I was wondering if you could draw any conclusions comparing the two.

Felt a little achy and low grade temp yesterday. Tested positive on home kit. We are doing the FLCCC protocol for her. So far she is doing well. Breathing fine, still able to smell and taste. Just a little tired with an intermittent cough. Been on two 1.5 mile walks today with her in the cool Tennessee air. Having a hard time getting my barrel clean even after a little brushing and several cleanings. I don't really care for the sake of being clean, but I am a little worried about the dreaded carbon ring. I am shooting win 6.5 stabal , and it's pretty dang dirty shooting powder. If I were getting my barrel clean each time I wouldn't worry about it but after inspecting my cleaning or lack there of with a borescope, I'm thinking I need to change my system a bit.

I'm afraid to use any of the abrasive stuff but I may have to if I actually want it clean. Frank's words about using the abrasive stuff like Iosso or something like it has made me not consider anything like that as an option....

Not sure where to go from here or even if I am getting it clean enough to prevent any carbon ring issues or similar issues. Had some weird pressure stuff that went on yesterday and it has me thinking about this. Could have just been the rain though....

I guess my question is "how do I know when it's clean enough" and "how can I get it cleaner without risking my barrel being messed up" ???
