Thoughts on the 2.8L Duramax?

So the time had come. I need a new ride and I'm wanting a truck. I don't haul anything other than my rifles (and a few cases are a PITA to cram in the Yaris!) but I do have a have a 500 mile a week commute. I am really liking the Chevy Colorado Z71 (Or the Canyon Altitude) with the 2.8L Duramax as 28MPG is pretty damn nice and with a tune 33MPG "might" be possible. My question for the gurus is this... How durable is that little lump (And the AT while I'm asking)? My diesel experince is limited to an OLD Mercedes 300D that was indestructable! TIA

Firearms 9mm AR15 for sale. Rifle was built by the Remington Custom Shop for Travis Tomasie.

I have an AR 15 that was built at the Remington Custom Shop for one of our former pro shooter. We built 2 of these 9mm rifles and I was fortunate to get one of them during the fall of Remington. My former boss has the other one. I have never shot it. It is built with all quality components and comes with 4, 33 round Glock mags. I am asking 950.00 shipped to your FFL. USPS money order or certified check only please. Shipping to the lower 48 only.

Recommend another Caliber (Target/Handloads)

Hey guys,

I’m wildly itchy to add another rifle to the collection. I exclusively bench rest target shoot, hunting for tight groups. I reload and really enjoy it.

Currently I have the following rifles and was hoping you guys could recommend a caliber that would make sense to the collection (keeping in mind I would like to reload)

Currently Rifles:

Tikka T1X - honestly lol, I love it. I got lucky and mine loves CCI SV. Basically free to run.

Tikka T3X Varmint Stainless in .223 - tack driver with 55g VMax in front of 26.1g of CFE223.

Tikka T3X CTR 24” 6.5 Creedmoor - the most impressive of them all. Consistently group .3 MOA at 100 yards with a handload.

I’m at a loss for a caliber that makes sense to fill in the gap between the 223 and 6.5 Creedmoor. Something that has bullets, cases and powder fairly readily available and doesn’t want to blow my shoulder off. I can only reach out to 300yards at my local range. I’ve even considered some obscure calibers like .22 Hornet…. But think a larger caliber is more the direction I want to go. Maybe? Haha. I don’t know.

Thanks guys, appreciate your help

Classic example of what is wrong with 'news'

Don't get me wrong... I like Breitbart. They tell stories that MSM won't.

But they are no different from the uber leftist socialist journalists, in reality. Trying to sell clicks and get eyeballs and maximize their bottom line.

Here's the 'gem' that caught my eye this morning:

Ok folks... it's Indonesia. They are a nation of 250 million spread over thousands of islands... Their GNP per capita is somthing like $4500. Most of that going to a tiny fraction of the population... median household income is something like $800 a year. 13000 children are born a day and of those... 220 will die as infants. They are losing 9 kids an hour from disease and poor conditions.

Don't even get started on rampant malaria, smallpox, cancer, industrial accidents, chemical exposure, getting eaten by sharks, ringworm, VD and Alec Baldwin (ok, I made that last one up)

But WTF... it's FRONT PAGE news in America that death rate from a stupid volcano... has risen to 13... in the past several days. 13. That's 80 minutes of infant mortality alone.

Infant mortality, however, is not clickbait. If it bleeds it leads? Dirty Laundry? Terror news (because the next volcano might be under Atlanta...) Fear porn? Those scary volcanoes.

When you look at this crap, remember it' to entertain you. Terrify you. Manipulate you. And more importantly... sell your eyeballs to advertisers because you are so obsessed with the shiny volcano story that you forget that it's irrelevant. Unless you live in Cody, Wyoming. They you're already toast.

Just my rant for the morning.

Magnum caliber for 600-1000+

I’m looking at building a new gun primarily for hitting steel from 600 out to roughly 1200yd. I already have a 308 that was my first long range build, and my 243 AI. This go around I’m looking at building something with a little more punch. I’m leaning towards 264 win mag, but am really wanting opinions on what to look into. My only requirement is the ability to be able to buy brass off the shelf for reloading, as I don’t really want to fire form another round. The plan is a 28-30” tube, manners T4a stock or similar, and to remount 4-32 Nightforce nx8 on it.

So ya. Does the King of Copy Paste have a Vagina, or not?

I think pillars of our community should have more open access as to who they really are personally. I already know the answer to the question. Howard ABSOLUTLEY has a Vagina, butt you don't know that, yet. l only know because he tried to hide a brick of 22 LR ammo in his Prison Purse at Cabela's, cheap bastard.

Anyone else know of his nefarious ways?

What kinds of scopes did you use as a kid?

Random thoughts...

I'm 37. When I was a teenager, shooting relatively cheap guns with cheap scopes for deer hunting, I was typically using Tasco, Bushnell, and Simmons, 3-9x40. I remember my dad had an old 6x Redfield widefield that I thought was pretty decent.

Back then, I thought my Simmons was a good scope. But I didn't actually know any better, until one day I looked through a Nikon ProStaff, and was blown away at the optical clarity. Then a few years later my uncle got a mid-range Leupold, and again, I was blown away. I often reminisce about the days when I thought a Nikon ProStaff was the end all be all of rifle scopes.

And many of the most popular scope companies today didn't even exist 20 years ago. Seems like Vortex just popped up out of nowhere and now they're everywhere.

My entry into "precision" was a New England Firearms, break-action 223 with a bull-barrel and a cheap BSA scope with some ridiculous magnification, like 40x or something. Fun gun, I regret selling it.

SOLD WTS Minox ZP5 w/MR4 Excellent condition $2200 TYD

I have a like new condition Minox that I am looking to sell. I have owned plenty of these and they are some of the greatest scopes for the money. Thanx for looking. Feel free to text for more pics. I would like to get this scope moved today.... Not really looking to trade. Just need cash.
