Of course i’m not every bridge in our country was designed to carry “trucks” of certain T weight and water crossings were mapped and maintained. Now you go into great unknown you either have “bmw drifters” driving or regular “joes”. Ones need rescue others perform and if you fuck with “bmw drifters” youre left with “joes”.

Its a natures law like gravity or transfer of force very basic yet many do not grasp it.

Well, you wouldn't. If you have your stuff set up to perfection, and it works for your application then you're good. Not everyone participates in the same discipline. I personally, just like the challenge of seeing how small I can make my shot groups, so for me, brass consistency is a major factor. Just something I do to de-stress / unwind.

I've got a 22" 6.5prc on a badger, 140eldm handloads with h1000 are running 2930. Factory 147eldm are 2850, but they are fairly tame compared to handloads.

I can appreciate checking out the claims of the manufacturer for a fancy new toy, I'm just trying to understand when you'd ever get real world scenarios that would lead to the results seen running 40 rounds through it "to get the barrel hot".

Yeah, I can’t imagine any scenario where one might expect to put 40 shots down range and still expect to have the rifle not string, shift point of impact, or otherwise not hit in the general expected vicinity…

Referencing a pixel isn't going to give any indication of angular alignment since the screen is at the back near at the mounting point. I think the only way to get consistent angular alignment is to have the mount shoulder on the objective bell squarely when the clamp is tightened. Think of it like a suppressor. If the suppressor is loose, the entry hole is still aligned with the bore, but the exit hole may not be. Tightening the suppressor against the shoulder squares it up so that the exit hole is aligned. It's the sensor/lens being inconsistently aligned that is causing the lack of repeatability.

The reason I brought this up was for 3 reasons. 1. Speedy Gonzales tried some of their PPC brass, and he approved. Now I know how you guys view benchrest shooters, but you cant argue with someone in the benchrest hall of fame; if that guy measures the brass and tries it for consistency and it passes, then you know its good. The only brass to get their stamp of approval in the past was the Lapua. 2. Lapua decided to help fund the Ukraine instead of delivering to their civilian base. Now I know they probably have tons of defense contracts and why wouldnt they? But, in their absence, an AMERICAN company that doesnt have that problem stepped in and helped provide excellent brass. For a lot of shooters, that void was filled permanently; they're not going back. And 3. The Ultimate Reloader torture tested their 308 cases and they came out quite well! I'd say outstanding. You know how many people run 308 ARs hard, that beat down their brass, and now have a great alternative to lake city range pickup? If you didnt run it hard, this brass could you last WAY longer, AND sometimes its CHEAPER than the foreign Lapua, yet another plus.

I feel Alpha showed up at the best possible time, and edged out Lapua. This is just my personal opinion so I wanted to see how others felt. It's true, Lapua makes excellent shit, but their availability (due to the war is what they told me) is spotty, they're expensive, and not U.S. made. Up until this point, there was no U.S. made brass that had their out of the box consistency-now there is, and I think they're going to 'be the best'. Yea, I know there doesnt always HAVE to be the best, but, there still is in a lot of subjects.

I usually zoom in to reference an individual pixel, but I still don't REALLY trust it till I verify it.

With good reference marks, you'll be minute of pig out to 150-200, but minute of coyote at 300 - not so much.

Suffice to say it is a back up and I've gotten to the point I really only use it if I want the extra velocity of my 20" over a 12.5" due to being on a pipeline or field where I expect 200+ yard shots to be a probability.

When you install it, is the rifle oriented horizontally or vertically (muzzle to the sky)? It might be more repeatable if installed with the muzzle pointing towards the sky since the thermal won't be putting any torque on the mount. If there is an internal face on the mount, make sure it's shouldering on the end of the objective bell.

It’s an original 650. My understanding is the only difference is the priming system. Some people prefer the 650. Some prefer the 750. Only reason I’m selling is to go to a 1050 of a mark 7 and go automated. Press has been great.
