Best AR-15/M16 Bolt Carrier Group For The Money…Who Ya Got??

I've seen another coating from DS Arms, called nickel phosphate... I wonder what that's about...and how it compares in long term use.

Probably same thing as nickel boron just slightly different color/hue, these companies don't do their own plating either for the most part they send it out to 3rd parties. There's a lot of different compounds you can make stick to metal using electro processes you can watch videos on youtube it's pretty interesting because they come up with a very uniform coating that's microns thick etc.

Human populations reaching critical levels of complacency and comfort leads to catastrophes. There is a reason why Elon Musk is so hellbent on starting the Mars phase of the next step in human exploration. If you look at EVERY company he has founded or has acquired, it has something to do with Martian colonization.

SpaceX: Getting there, and heavy materials and large occupant capacity transportation between Earth and offworld assets.

Hyperloop: Contactless magnetic ground transport between Mars outposts and getting around the planet in general.

X/Twitter: Telecommunications and data processing.

Starlink: Planet-wide data interface, as well as interplanetary communications.

Tesla: All vehicles used in Mars and offworld sites will have to be electric.

Neuralink: Human-computer interface enabling for enhanced human senses and instant, synced in data support for the existing 5 senses. Would be essential for construction workers, scientists, and security forces operating in space or hostile atmospheres. Also enables humans to directly interface with and operate drones, robots, etc.

The last time humanity has reached a near critical population and complacency period was during the first Age of Exploration. Europe during the time of Columbus and Magellan was beset by horrific religious wars that claimed millions of lives, and theocratic oppression which saw scientific advancements halted and leading scientists forced to renounce their discoveries on the pain of torture and death. The New World enabled the tough, adventurous, and hardy to leave that world behind and found which would eventually become the USA and other places.

We are reaching this 1450s-esque critical mass again where a large percentage of people have willingly neutered themselves and allowed themselves to become defenseless sheep, while a minor percentage only seeks to obtain total control and compliance. And in the midst of all this, there are pockets of hardy and tough individuals just like in the Old World, but not in enough strength to overthrow or alter the rapidly declining facets of current society through force of arms alone.

So the only viable and pragmatic solution for the future, would be to branch out again, just like what Columbus, Drake, Cortez, Pizarro, and Balboa did. The "oceans" would be a lot more bigger, and empty this time, but in order for terran civilization to survive, it seems like at certain epochs, at least a portion of the human population must branch out, settle new domains, and return to a state of survival minded toughness paired with adventurous attitude so old ideas and mentalities which allowed humans to survive the Ice Ages can continue to thrive.
interesting take on things. no disagreement here. for Homo Sapiens to survive,i have always thought that we have to get off this planet. i have always been surprised in a way about how we have repopulated after demographic disasters; the Mongol conquest, plague, the European wars you mention, the wipe out of pre European w. hemis. populations, the whole 20th century loss of life, many other events.
and i still agree with Malthus about population vs resource extraction. our tech has allowed us to get around him but just have to wonder for how long. at some point there is a real limit to the existence of gold, oil, copper, fertile land, water, etc, etc.
the fact is the greenies have some valid points that should be considered. their understanding of the causes of the problems is deranged and based on emotion and a result of a miserable education system and propaganda. their solutions are insanity and all are counterproductive. their elite heroes solution is mass extermination which won't work in the end unless the serfs are all sterilized, which there is a plan for.
doubt i will be around to see the outcome. i don't care to and looks to be a long way off if there is a solution found.

I forget where I read it but a phosphate coating is the best overall when it comes to staying functional/"slippery" the longest provided you're not a retard and use regular oil. Over the years I've bought tons of the NiB bolts from different companies and got rid of all of them. They look cool when new but otherwise never saw any functional advantage.

Replacing the barrel on my Medium weight 14.5 inch run and gun upper

When I built my 6 ARC I used the VLTOR with a Proof carbon barrel The fit was snug but not thermo fit and not sloppy. The barrel slips in and out without too much effort. I didn't even glue it in just to see how it would shoot. I torqued it to 49 ft lbs with a BCM handguard. With factory Hornady 108 ELD its .5-.6 MOA easily on a bench with bipod and rear bag.

My old Centurion 18" MK12 Douglas barrel is slip fit into the receiver (they assembled). With my handloads I have had 5 shot groups in the .3 but its typically .5-.7 with 75/77 loads. That is with their 2 piece free float handguard on the bipod and rear bag from a bench.

It made me rethink all of the things we do to try and squeeze some accuracy out of the gas guns. I think a good barrel and bolt with straight receivers are capable of more than enough accuracy. Or maybe I just got lucky twice.

AGM Rattler --- Give Me the Deets

Rattlers I've had are awesome. 5 year warranty now as well. Get at least a 384 resolution, you can certainly use lower, but it's just a lot nicer to add clarity. You can definitely shoot them in daylight, that's how most of us zero them. The V2 battery life is great.

That said I've used a RIX Storm S3 with a lot of success and really like it.

Feral Texas is just up the road from me and the have the Storm S3 for $1500. Hard to beat that.

Here is the prick who cause 922(0)

yea,the original intent was meet for about 6 weeks every other year and then go back to work wherever doing whatever. amongst the very many things needed to fix this place are term limits. not gonna happen. doubt anyone is honest enough to vote themselves out of a net worth in the millions. at least not anyone who tries to get in politics anyway. by definition a corrupt power, influence and wealth seeker.
