Mag catch problem solved. I might just have a lemon, but if anyone else runs into this in the future, let me know and I can probably help you out.

Long story short, though the factory skins I have look fine, the molded hole for the left side mag release had tolerances about 1mm too large, which allowed the bolt catch to be slightly torqued rearward by the mag catch spring. This caused only a small portion of the mag catch to touch the magazine, which led to magazine retention issues as I move from position to position.

Before, note the angle that the mag catch gets torqued to, essentially only the rear corner holds the magazines in. Fine for prone shooting but not running around doing positional stuff.

After, note how the mag catch is much closer to square (when I went more than this, it required too much force to insert a mag). Sure I could file the bottom of the catch, but this allows for a non-permanent modification and solves the problem completely.

I wanted a non-intrusive and non-permanent solution, and simply 3d printed a variety of mag release buttons with the shaft offset at varying distances.

I played Goldilocks a bit, as 0.6mm was so much retention the mag insertion was troublesome, and 0.2mm was only slightly improved. 0.4mm was perfect, and the 3D printed PPA-CF should hold up as good as the original.

Doesn't look too bad.

If anyone ever runs into this issue I would be happy to send you a few mag catches for the cost of parts and shipping to see if it solves your issue, just reach out.

Final solution is a 3d printed bolt catch with an M6 stud to replace the original.

Can you share your step file ?

6mm vs 6.5mm, not quite beating a dead horse.

So on the discussion of velocity, what do you guys with experience (there’s a lot of it) find the set spot for velocity? The perfect balance of flat but dull see to see exactly where the shot landed?

Going to come down more to you, your eyes, how your rifle is set up and how you can shoot it.

I shoot 110 ATips in my 6ARC at 2725fps and in my 6 Creed at about 2910fps and can see both hit the target so I’d say in that area would be a good place to shoot for velocity.

Your PVA prefit experience

Thank you! That’s exactly what I was looking to find out. PVA is fairly close to me as far as gunsmiths go, and even closer to my sister in law that lives in PA, that we go visit several times a year. Maybe I can even drop something off in person. I’m thinking that if I go with the Deviant action, I’ll definitely be giving PVA a try. Thank again for the information.

Yeah going from upstate NY down to PVA would be pretty easy. If you go with the deviant you can just ship it down and then they would ship it back to you all barreled up. Or you can drop it. Even if you go with another action give PVA a try. I am sure you will be happy with the end product.

Night Vision Looking to purchase first thermal clip on

Went down the clip on rabbit hole years ago.

I wasn’t going to chime in even though I wanted to say this 👆 30 post ago. I usually tell all my customers that are thinking a clipon to go with a dedicted. If their hearts are set on one then so be it but I do my best. The performance on the dedicated units is so much better and with AGM ours using the ADM mounts are just so easy to move around.

Review Walther PDP Pro 5" Polymer

I have been impressed with our PDP pro. Best striker trigger I have felt and has been extremely reliable so far.

For me personally, the gun does not point as naturally to me as my preferred cz p10’s, and the recoil impulse has more muzzle rise and “snap” but does settle back on target pretty quickly with my 130pf 125gn loads.

The cheap plastic sights I actually think is a smart move on their part. No matter what sight they put on the gun 1/2 the people wouldn’t like it so they out cheap plastic adjustable sights which work great for people that don’t know any better and let the people that care choose exactly the sight they like. My preference black serrated rear, fiber optic front.

My wife has claimed it and now wears a holosun comp. Can’t wait for the weather to cool down to try it in some local USPSA matches.

Autotricklet V4 mechanical reliability and customer service?

I wouldn’t worry about breaking it. However it’s a horrible unit that doesn’t work well enough to justify the cost.

Adam knows this was a subpar product and pushed it out anyways using customers as beta testers.

Stay away from the v4 - I would have rather stayed with two RCBS lite over that. (I eventually went to a v3 + IP). the v4 only works after messing with settings a ton and adding in third party accessories which is not what a product at a premium price point should need.

Oh and did I mention that I hate the v4
What would be your opinion if you had a V4/IP combo, only using the V4 for the bulk drop and then the IP to trickle it up to final?

TT primary or Timney 517 v2?

If it’s your first trigger, both will be fine.

Both are too heavy for my preference, add a bit more money and get an upgraded version. You should be able to find a special for what you quoted a primary price as. If it was a month ago and july4 sales were happening it would have the special for that price.

The trigger is the most important part imo. If you can’t get it to go off when you want it to, then it’s not good enough. Both of those you’ve mentioned feels like I’m lifting weights instead of shooting a nice rifle.

Awesome suppressor muzzle brake front end attachment by Recoilx

Same, any estimated time frame for the Dilligent cans?
@RecoilXBrakes - When will these Gen2's be available for Diligent/Dead air??

Just paid the stamp on a Enticer S ti & I think this would be pretty effective on the S can.

Thanks
DA/DDC support is coming ASAP. Heard folks loud and clear on here and Instagram, and I am super grateful for your interest. Working on prototypes now and shortly heading to testing.
