What 224 bore supressor should I get for a Remington XP-100?

For those unaware of what an XP-100 is, here's a pic. Ignore the red adapter. That was placed on there to allow me to try out my Lahar 30 on it. (Which actually suppressed very well)
This one is in 223. Barrel is 14.5" and less than a #2 contour.

20250305_071258.jpg

I'm looking for something short, light and possibly still usable on an AR once in a while.

What I don't want to do is spend $1k or more on it.

Any suggestions on something that would fit my use case?

ETA: maybe I'm narrowing my search to much, asking for a 224 can???

Stacking Plates

So I’m venturing into the foray of red dots on handguns.

Picked up an XD-M Elite in 10mm with the OSP plate.

Decided on the Holosun 509T.

Ordered “Plate 3” from Springfield and it arrived in three days.

When I called Springfield (they’ll send you one plate for free) to place the order I was told 6-8 weeks.

Well, I have two new toys in my possession and I’m not about to wait that long. So, I placed an order for one also.

That one showed up today. (Three days door to door. Well worth the $35 to not have to wait up to two months.

I went to put the plate on, and something didn’t look right.
I double checked my order with Springfield. Yep, plate three. Viewed the plate online, yep, looks the same.

Little did I realize, I need to mount the plate that came with the Holosun, to the plate that I ordered from Springfield. (And file the screws to mount the Holosun down because the Springfield plate is so thin the screws would bottom out on the top of the slide.)

Now, I was under the impression that when I ordered the plate from Springfield, it would be dovetailed to fit the Holosun.
Well, that would be too easy.

Cowitness? Not today. The 509 has probably better than 1/4” between the base of it and the top of the slide.

Rant over.
Anyone know where I can get one plate that both screws to the slide of the XD-M and is dovetailed to mount the Holosun?

6mm ARC for 1k yards build

It’s been two years since I posted “I don’t see the allure of 6mm ARC”. I see the allure now. My collection is rather small but everything has a specific purpose (other than my 16” carbine gas Colt LE6920 with the MIL/LE restricted markings). I’m not really a fan, but can’t part with it or change it. I want to build another AR and I don’t have anything that is semi automatic AND ACCURATE past 1k yards. I’ve got a 16” 308 barrel for my SCAR 17, but it stays in the 13” configuration. My 14.5” piston AR definitely isn’t coming close to 1k. My MRAD especially in 338 is certainly capable, but a low recoiling AR would be so much fun. I know nothing about the caliber or who makes the best parts. So far I was thinking
Final build:
San Tan tactical receiver set
Geissele 15” MK4 rail
Craddock 18” RTR 6.5 Grendel barrel
Superlative Arms piston kit
POF roller cam pin
Geissele SDE 2 stage trigger
Magpul ACS with BCM MK2 buffer
JP enterprises rifle length spring
Fortis K2 endplate
Radian Raptor SD charging handle
Radian Talon safety
NightForce NX8 2.5-20 in an ADM mount
HUXWRX flash hider
Atlas V8 bipod
I was going to use a HUXWRW flash hider and use my Flow Ti 762 and maybe get the Flow 6mm if I end up really liking it and want to keep a can on it.
It looks like Duramag are the preferred mags? My main concern is that it has to be 100% reliable.. are the mags there yet? I’m not too concerned with weight since it will absolutely be lighter than my MRAD. I get a pretty nice discount on ADM and NightForce products as well as Proof.. so it seem like going with them was a no brainer. The entire setup will run about $4350. Id also REALLY like to find a refurbished PVS30 to use on a couple of these. Anyone see any glaring problems? Suggestions? Could I go 18” barrel and a 15” handgaurd and be good to 1k?

I want to build (or maybe buy, if I must) a precision .308 gas gun

Gents, I have been scouring the forum for info and I'm stuck in a feedback loop in my head. I want to put together a precision gas gun in .308 (because I have access to the ammo). This would be for range use, primarily, but I like to build duty-quality/reliability rifles. I had settled on Seekins builder sets for receivers/forearm because you minimize/eliminate the pressure on the barrel nut when you run the rifle on a bipod. I've discovered that they are very hard to find and expensive as hell when you do find them. My questions are these:

If not Seekins, whose upper/forearm combo is best for elimination of the input into the barrel when using a bipod? I love the direct forearm-receiver attachment but Seekins, Mega/ZEV, etc don't seem to be obtainable any more. I wish Larue had a large-frame builders set.

Am I going to spend as much money building one of these as I am buying something outright from JP (highly recommended) or an SP10 from Seekins?

I've been following @Bigjake83's posts regarding small frame precision rifle building and have used his formula to put a dandy small frame recce rifle together. I'd like to try it with a large frame.

Any input? Am I just spinning my wheels?

Thanks for your time.

EBay Beever156 M40 stock compared to original spec.

So I wanted to build a clone of the M40 USMC sniper rifle for the vintage CMP sniper matches and multi purpose role and have been researching it on here and various forums and have learned a whole lot in a short amount of time. After seeing some reviews here of other members using EBay user Beever156 M40 stock; I ordered one for myself and from the previous users of this stock; I knew I had to modify the forend to match the contour to make it look as orginal as possible. Thanks to @USMCSGT0331 info on the stock and pretty much entire build spec, I was able to make comparisons. These are my measurements (mind you human error/accuracy of calipers/measurements at the exact right point) compared to the real deal. Not sure if this helps anyone but I’d figure I’d post it. There are some measurements I left out because I couldn’t get a exact point on measure on my stock.

Now to begin the sanding phase of the build.

Link to builder guide to the M40:

A. Length from the front of the recoil lug to the tip of the forend
Orginal average-10.080 Beever156-10 3/4

H. Width of the stock at the tip of the forend (right before it starts to taper off)
OA-1.369. B156-1.514

I. Width of the stock at the front sling swivel
OA-1.512 B156-1.641

J. Width of the stock midway on the forend (4 inches from the front of the recoil lug)
OA-1.727 B156-1.721

K. Width of the stock at the front of the recoil lug
OA-1.851 B156-1.780

L. Width of the barrel channel at the tip of the forend (right before it starts to taper off)
OA-0.974 B156-0.975

M. Width of the barrel channel at the front sling swivel
OA-0.985 B156-0.985

N. Width of the barrel channel midway on the forend (4 inches from the front of the recoil lug)
OA-1.011 B156-0.999

O. Width of the barrel channel at the front of the recoil lug
OA-1.336 B156-1.293

X. Height of butt
OA-5.076 B156-5.070

Y. Width of butt
OA-1.630 B156-1.633

OAL – Stock overall length (without buttplate)
OA-30.0 B156-30 1/4

Leveling a scope is dumb

Or maybe its me

OK
RimX action
Spuhr mount with level (lol)
Razor 6x36 G3
MDT send it
Light in objective
Plumb line and shadow on wall

I leveled Spuhr mount with its bubble. Then flashlight in objective to plumb line shadow on wall. Nothing else levels out.
Put level on scope, mount, or gun everything is canted. I am going with plumb line and gravity.

I do some fine tuning trying to get scope, mount or gun level with bubble and MDT send it stays solid green saying its good (😊) the whole time even as plumb line shadow shows me how crooked the scope is.

Accessories Manners CS

I have 2 stocks for sale, both for Rem 700 SA.

1st is a Manners CS with mini chassis with Badger NV bridge installed for the short LPVO scopes and thermal clipons. Works great with the iRay and POT Vudoo S. Selling because I don't use it and enjoy the lighter XLR Mag chassis with NV bridges.

The top of the rail is in line with the scope rail of my TL3 so no height offset unlike my other chassis with bridges

$1200 shipped and insured.

Guns not included, just the stock/chassis. Pictures are to show them installed and can provide any other pictures you want.

Thanks

Suppressors Talk me out of a K can

So I've got a Sandman S already and when I put it on my 12.5, it starts feeling more and more like my 14.5.

My thought is to either buy a 556 specific can (Dead Air is supposed to have one at some point) or get a K can.

Has anyone done a direct thread K can on an 11.5 or 12.5 and regretted it? I shoot with earpro 99% of the time but I don't like a fireball at night. Thoughts?
