Reposting this in comp thread as I hope it gets better traction!

Looking to get some feedback from the group running RMR/SRO/Aimpoint/etc on top of 20+ zoom scopes for target acquisition out to 900 yards. Is a more definitive small dot like a 1 moa RMR the way to go? Should an easier to pick up 6.5 MOA RMR be better? something in the middle?

Pictures with feedback is always appreciated. I would be running a Vortex Razor G2 4.5-27 and a Vortex impact 4000. Using a baldknobber diving board mount for the RMR/SRO for reference so i will be using an RMR. see below link and picture.

Haven't been on here in a while but in the market to toss a scope on a Kidd build I'm wrapping up. Spent the last 4 or 5 hours having some very informative and entertaining reads.

Was planning on grabbing the DNT, but while checking deals on some Athlon offerings, noticed they have an Athlon Ares ETR Gen2.

I couldn't find anyone reviewing the Ares Gen2 so I did email Cameraland to ask for their opinion on if the Ares was worth it over the DNT.

Do PRS events allow shooters to know the distance of targets prior to the match starting, or maybe before each stage? Is the info on the card just generally to help with speed? Is putting wind holds on dope cards a thing, I imagine a match can take hours so the wind would be changing all day? Are people just generally writing out the card 4dof generates so they can have it in an easy to reference location like on one of those pic holders or strapped to their stock?

Selling my trg-42 chambered in 338 LM. Hate to sell this one but I need the funds for another project. Rifle is a post 13 model with the 10 twist. Has ~ 500 rounds through it. Ive been trying my hand at reloading 5.56 rounds in an attempt to duplicate the Black Hills MK262 Mod 1 ammunition that supplied to the US Military for use in the 18" SBR. Im using LC brass, CCI 41 primers and SMK 77 gr with the cannelure. My understanding is the military load develops a velocity of around 2,750 fps. Just for note, I measured the volume of the case with a seated bullet set to 2.260 COAL so I would not overfill the case and have a compressed powder issue. In working up my powder charges, the cases reached the point where they were filled with powder. I first used RE15 powder but was not getting velocities above 2610 fps. CFE223 powder reached a max velocity of 2630 fps. IMR 8208XBR powder reached a velocity of 2720 fps. I now have some TAC powder that i will try next. Im not an expert in reloading but Im giving it the ole college try.

I was wondering if anyone else is trying their hand at duplicating the MK 262 ammo and if you would be willing to share your thoughts and receipts.

I know they made the 22 barrels for voodoo. But has anyone tried there blanks in bigger magnums? Do they hold up at elr distance like the other barrels?

My AMP Mark 1 Annealer is probably at the 60,000 mark by now.

1. The smell has been there since it was turned on before actual use, on day one
2. It manifests upon turning the unit on
3. It’s the smell you encounter when your toaster shorts in a bad way or your alternator is about to give up the ghost (might this be Ozone?)
4. It used to bother the heck outta me, but I’ve gotten used to it
5. The apartment hasn’t burned down

Just what or where IS this smell from?

I remember varnish being mentioned in one of AMP’s videos, but they didn’t mention any smell associated with it.
