Description
The Seekins Precision Havak Professional Hunter PH2 is another step forward in the evolution of American made hunting rifles. The Havak action uses 4 locking lugs and allows for a 90° bolt throw. Unlike most actions that place the bottom bolt lug behind the feed ramp, the Havak action places the bolt lugs at the 3 and 9 o’clock positions. This design keeps the feed ramp unencumbered and enhances feeding reliability. The action comes with a pre-installed 20 MOA Picatinny rail with (5) 8-32 action screws allowing for wide variety of scope mounting choices. The Havak Precision Hunter 2 is hand bedded with aluminum pillars ensuring a perfectly free floated barrel. I just put together an 8x57 AI, because I'm weird and I like 8mm crap and hate money I guess.. I got the reamer inspection report from 4d, so I have that info, plus the crappy cartridge drawing on their reamer info page, so I have been trying to build it in GRT, so that I can estimate load data on something that really doesn't have any published info at all. Can you please lend me some help with this by verifying that I have the information correct?

About the pull the trigger on a Zeus build and someone mentioned the quick change isn’t a great option in PRS because you could bump the barrel and lose your zero vs an impact, lone peak, etc.

Is this true? I really wanted to be able to change from 6 dasher to 6cm for practice and cheap factory ammo.

I’m a casual shooter, once a month local matches.

Torn between this and an impact. I’m considering the impact action due to less bolt lift and from research it appears to feed better with AW mags.

I know this has been kicked around. I saw a couple threads where people say companies make prefits but when you go to their site Bat is not an option. I just ordered a Vampire LA magnum today it is my first custom action and I am stoked. After sitting on the computer for a few hours tonight i feel kind of beat. I was hoping to "build" my own first rifle so that is why i was looking for prefits. I saw carbon 6 and i think one other company did true prefits.

I know blanks are the way to go and that is now setting in much more. I just wanted to have a one stop shop and not ship around and wait on multiple timelines. I am also over thinking all the caliber options and twist rates. I wanted to build a 300prc short barrel with a carbon wrapped barrel to run suppressed for hunting. But I also hand load and want something that will run close to 3000fps with heavier bullets 230max. Just too many options 300wm, 300prc (w2), 30 nos, 300wsm. 300rum would be fun but probably not in a short barrel. I will most likely drop this Vampire into an XLR chassis and run CIP mags.

If anyone has input on the Vampire, prefits, blanks, smiths who turn out accurate barrels I'd love to hear it. If you dont want to over load the smiths send me a message. Ive shot pretty much factory guns all my life except for some of my dads rifles. In my mid 30's now and i am looking to change that. But damn these things get expensive quick.
