US Optics?

Good morning all. I sent in a B25 for warranty service. It was received at the factory on October 15th. Prior to this, I had never had a problem with getting ahold of tech support or customer service by phone or by email. I always had a response withing 24hrs. They suggested a 4-5 week turn around for the repair. Its been 7 now and I have not been able to get ahold of anyone, by phone or by email. Has anyone heard anything about the company in general recently?

SOLD M40 clone correct trigger

Hey guys,

I have an early to mid '60's vintage Remington 700 split sear trigger with the tall tombstone safety available. Would be perfect for an OG M40 or maybe an early M40A1 spec build. Had picked this up for my M40 build but stuck with the early 40X trigger that came with my action so this one is up for grabs.

Please ask if you have any questions about the scope.

A thread/question for the trade workers, engineers, and hydrologists... weirdos stay out!

Ok,

I've got a serious question for the smart people here on the Hide...

Let's say that given a 2 story house, there are 2 bathrooms/toliets on the 1st floor & 2 bathrooms/toliets on the 2nd floor. Let's also say that all of the toilets are exactly the same (aside from location/elevation) and that the sewer goes out in the basement directly beneath the 1st floor. So all toilets are the same make & model and since this is America in this scenario... let's call one of the constants that all of the toilets are rated at 1.6 GPF.

So here's my question, and yes I'm being serious here (hence I why I said no weirdos and trying to recruit educated & experienced professionals here). As a layperson, I may be using the wrong terminology but would the 2 toilets on the 2nd floor have the equivalent of a "mechanical advantage" to that of the 2 toilets on the 1st floor of the house?

Here's why I ask- I'd have to believe that a higher elevation from the sewer throughput would be able to take advantage of gravitational pull but, as we all learned in school, gravitational pull is constant (9.8 m/s^2 if I remember my schooling from lifetimes ago). BUT- there's also the forces that allow a siphon to work that is aiding into the gravitational constant. It's been a VERY long time since I took HS chemistry but I feel like there was something about weak ionic bonds that factored into that science.

In this scenario, most of the controllables are controlled- the flow rate of the flush (1.6 GPF) and with the models being identical & the water trap bend being the same on both the 1st and 2nd floor, is there a "mechanical/hydraulic" advantage to the toilet on the 2nd floor or does the water trap bend act as a regulator?

If it isn't mathematically significant (assuming that elevation poses a quantifiable, albeit minor, difference) at what elevation would the higher toilet be required to be at from the out pipe to take advantage of it's elevation given that all things are otherwise equal?

Thanks in advance.

My guess as to the weapon used in the NY CEO murder

Looking at the blurry picture, my guess it is some model of Glock threaded for, and equipped with, a suppressor. The gun malfunctions and he manually clears the failure. I think it is gross over thinking to believe it is a Welrod or B&T Station Six. I've heard some suggest that the failure to eject was actually not a failure, but a slide lock to enhance suppression. First, both Welrod and B&T are NFA registered. Were these stolen? I doubt the shooter legally purchased either of these. Occam's razor would suggest that it is a Glock with probably a home-made suppressor. It's possible the suppressor was legally purchased. If so, it shouldn't be too difficult to find out who, between the ages of 21 and 35, purchased a suppressor and start with the Atlanta area where the shooter boarded a Greyhound bus. A home-made suppressor would do the trick and account for the failures as it probably didn't have a booster.

G1 as a factor for bullet/round selection

I’m not into reloading so I’m asking this as a general knowledge question. I realize the G1 is a small percentage of the overall aspect of shooting. There’s PLENTY of other factors to consider.

Would you select a bullet/round based solely on G1 specifications??
Is the G1 factor primary to your bullet/round selection over other factors??
Does the G1 factor cause you to change any sort of recipe data for the same grain weight??
Given two bullets/rounds of the same grain weight but different G1 factors, how do you make your selection??

I ask this as I tend to shoot factory ammunition but I’s suspect it trends when reloading. I find some boxed rounds grouping better while it seems as the G1 factor is lower/higher than other rounds. I would guess a higher G1 “should be” a better bullet/round, from my shooting it seems that’s not always the case. Yea…I’m not a expert in loads/load development nor a range ninja. I just shoot for relaxation and the fun challenging myself to do better. Thanks in advance.

JP Enterprises LRP07/LRI20 impressions

I recently bought an LRP-07/LRI-20 chambered in 6.5 creedmoor with a 22" barrel, added a NightForce ATACR 7x35 and a dead air sandman L suppressor, and took it on a 2 day long range instruction course out to 1200 yards.

I was truly impressed with the precision, ease of use, low recoil, reliability, etc. Ran flawlessly without a single malfunction. You could shoot this thing 1000 rounds and not get fatigued. The adjustable gas block and tunable silent captured spring buffer are so nice. Trigger is crisp and around 2.5 lbs. I had the only gas gun there, but it had no problem keeping up with the bolt guns.

The side charging handle is so easy to use and smooth. Last year's rig was a Wilson Combat Super Sniper in 6.5, which is a great gun, but this is next level. It was well worth the buy in for me because I wasn't interested in trying to build a precision large frame that runs reliably, and was happy to pay the premium for an off the shelf package.

Having shot bolt rifles most of my life and only recently getting into AR shooting, I get the allure. There's just something fun about shooting these large frame precision gas guns, especially suppressed.
