NYS resident seeking specific recommendation (link to model, brand , distributor etc) for a 5 round mag for DPMS series 10 in 6. 5 Creedmoore. Please note: I have a DPMS 10 in .308 as well - The .308 build inserts well with the Pmag 10 round mag but not the cheap 5 round steel mags. The 6.5 will only get rounds inserted on the first and sometimes the second with the 10 round Pmag. The 6.5 rifle is currently only used for long range practice so I am pretty much just putting singles in the chamber. The .308 rifle is used occasionally for hunting white tail and I use the 10 round mag for still hunting. Before leaving a stand I make sure I have a partially loaded cheap 5 round steel mag available to display in any kind of situation remotely like a public setting.I do 90% of my white tail hunting with my Armalite series 15 build in .450 bushmaster anyway but I’d like serviceable 5 round mags for both of the DPMS 10 series and I absolutely need a functional mag of some sort for the 6.5 rifle. It turns out I only have two hands, and each of my 3 sons only have two hands, and my wife will barely use one hand - and our hands are full, hence these three offerings are handless.

1) USP 9mm full size, LEM trigger with Jet Funnel and dim but functional-ish night sights - this is, in my humble opinion, the best full size 9mm there is but this is a duplicate in my collection. These use 18 round mags for a 19 round capacity, they were built for the 40 S&W which is to say even if you funded a steady diet of +P you'll never wear it out. Comes with two 18 rd mags, but holsters/ more mags are available to the buyer at better than typical market. Truly one of the best handguns ever made. $750 OBO

2) USP 40 Compact V1 (Double action with safe and decocker) and older but not dead night sights, easier to carry, 12+1 capacity, packs the potent 40 cal punch and is compact while still giving you enough gun to control well enough to drive it hard - comes with 2 mags, more + holsters available for this one as well - $700 OBO for the gun and 2 mags

We have seen some comments here and their regarding issues with particular XRF units, and rather than scattering topics around, it would be helpful to consolidate them.

Back when the Halo-LR first came out, it wasn't without it's growing pains. There was a thread that was started to consolidate customer needs, wants, problems, solutions, etc. Considering some XRF units have had problems, and @Max_R 's participation here is fairly regular, I think we would all benefit from a productive conversation around what we're seeing with real world examples.

To be clear, this is not a bashing thread. Let's be civilized and professional, share thoughts and feedback, or ask questions that N-Vision can elaborate on.

On to the meat of it...

From my observations and customer experiences, here's what I'm seeing from a small subset:
- Device Lock-Up requiring removal of batteries to reset
- LRF reading 7-11 yards consistently in high precip conditions (humidity, rain, etc).

Any other issue is an outlier and inconsistent across our customer base. That is not to say other problems don't exist, but rather they fall outside of SOK purview.

In addition, there have been requests for enhancements, of note:
- Reticle lock out in polar opposite of pallet (black hot, white reticle)
- Ballistic software included in the HUD


What am I missing? What questions would you like answered by N-Vision as it relates to the XRF as a product, feature and function?

This nice 44 mag Bisley has less than 50rds through it.
It's also pristine with exception to some very superficial scratches on the left side of the frame. They're so shallow that you have to hold it in the right light to see them. I took a close up picture which exhibits the extent of the scratches. They're probably easily buffed out.
