I am trying to decide on which scope to purchase. The reason I am looking at these scopes is because they seem to both tick all the boxes for what I am looking for (hunting and some distance shooting).

I understand the difference's between the two, the main one being the weight, but this really does not bother me. The price between the two is minimal with the T6Xi being slightly cheaper. I just don’t know if I am over looking something and wanted to get some other opinions?

Also I would entertain some other opinions on other possible scopes for the same purpose and around the same price point.

I'm looking at buying the Rex Silentium MG7k suppressor. Anyone have any experience of running the .308 can shooting a 6.5 creed? Is it hearing safe? I'm looking for a hunting situation.

Also, I keep hearing about deals and promo codes. Has anyone heard anything about them?

Lastly, if anyone has experience with these guys concerning accuracy or general experience let me know. It's hard to find any 3rd party info like 3rd party metering.

I'd like to build a carry .308 that can consistently reach out to 1027yds (my range). There are going to be trade-offs for sure, so I'd like to try to get a clearer handle of what I should be looking for in an overall system that combines barrel length, twist, bullet gr, and powder burn choices to optimize ranges out to 1027yds within the parameters of a rifle that stays pretty handy. Not looking for a competition gun. My prior experience is 300WM, and 6.5CM, but I am new to .308. I probably went about my introduction to rifle backwards in that regard. I understand that .308 won't share the same BCs of those calibers.

Research I have compiled so far (please correct incorrect assumptions):

• Basic rule of thumb: Shortening the barrel length of a .308 nets a loss of ~20 fps per inch.
• [Edit: corrected] Fast burning powders like short barrels. Slow burn like longer barrels.
• Slower burn powders also like heavier bullets(?)
• Twist: 1:10 is recommended for heavier bullets.
• Shorter barrels are stiffer. LL has shown an 18" barrel can make consistent hits at 1k. (Not sure what ammo he was using.)

I also happen to have a good deal of VV N150 on hand that I'm thinking of applying to this build, if a good idea. It's rated as "slow burn."

Are the above assumptions. correct?
If I were to use that VV N150, should I be looking at something like a 22"-24" barrel, 1:10 twist, 180 gr VLD?

For sale is a new in box, never mounted Athlon Ares ETR UHD 3-18x50 FFP scope with the APRS6 mil reticle. I have only taken this scope out of the box and installed the battery to look at the illumination (looks very good), it has never been mounted or used.

This scope is nice, but a bit heavy for the hunting rifle I'm outfitting, so I'm looking at the Leupold Mark4HD 2.5-10x42.

I have an old DPMS LR308B I mistakenly bought new because I thought it was a precision rifle. I also bought a ton of Radway Green, which shows how much I knew.

I am thinking about putting a 6.5 Creedmoor upper on it. I keep telling myself I will hunt hogs some day, and I like the idea of a gas gun with more power than an AR-15. I have two other 6.5 rifles, and I have enough reloading supplies to produce hundreds of hunting rounds.

In all likelihood, I will never get around to shooting hogs, but, you know...any excuse to fiddle with guns.

Aero Precision sells a barreled upper for a reasonable price, with no BCG. I said, "Fine. I'll get a BCG. How much can it cost?" Then I saw them being offered for $200, minimum. I had assumed I was going to be closer to $100.

I don't care all that much about $200, but once you start adding junk to an Aero Precision upper, you start getting close to the price of an upper from a snootier and perhaps better manufacturer. Primary Arms has Aero Precision fluted 22" uppers for $724, so once you add the handle and BCG, a complete $1200 upper starts looking like less aggravation and possibly a better product.

What would you do? Spend over $900 on Aero Precision with a new BCG and handle, get Aero Precision and use your old DPMS BCG, or move to a somewhat pricier complete upper?

Seventeen pornographic film actors announced on Monday that they have launched a $100,000 ad campaign to warn voters about the potential consequences of Project 2025, a conservative policy blueprint that has become a focal point for some Democratic campaigns. The ads, which will run on porn sites in seven crucial swing states — Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Georgia, Arizona, and Nevada — specifically claim that conservatives want a ban on pornography and the potential imprisonment of those involved in producing adult content.

The “hands off my porn” campaign strategists have carefully considered their target audience and the current polling data. While Vice President Kamala Harris is trailing former President Donald Trump among male voters, the campaign organizers believe that younger men, who are the biggest consumers of porn, could be persuaded to support the Democratic ticket.
