It's the .06 mil reticle thickness and the G3 upgrades that interests me. I had the G1 MT 4-16 which is a stand out of priceperquality and sold it right away because it was hard for me to see the reticle on low power because it was .04 mil thick.

Have any of you had the opportunity to compare the 87gr Vmax to the 80gr VT yet? B.C.’s look very close between the two. Just curious if it is worth jumping from the 87 to the newer shinier 80. Looking at shooting them out of a 6mm Creedmoor at prairie dogs and coyotes.

Quick question before I buy. Is Nosler brass as good as Lapua? Please share your experiences in using Nosler brass in terms of durability, consistency and repeatability in accurate loads.

My health changed before my buying habits!

Upgraded by ammo storage capability a few seasons back. These have been at 55% humidity using Kestrel D3 drops and Boveda 58% packs (per Applied Ballistics recommendation). This keeps the powder humidity as even as possible from case to case and controls muzzle velocity SD and ES much better than storage in open air (it helps when you are trying to punch small targets at long distance).

And consistency from cartridge to cartridge doesn’t happen overnight, each case “leaks” humidity in/out at the bullet/case junction and primer/case junction at a different rate hence powder humidity from case to case also experiences SD and ES (Bryan Litz). Brass tacs if you store your ammo well it will shoot well.

I will ship these wrapped tightly in plastic with a Boveda pack (unless otherwise instructed).

Hey guys, picked up a Kimber Hunter the other day and was wondering if anybody has suppressed these? When I was picking it up I was talking to my buddy and he said he had a rifle with a pencil barrel (much thicker than this) that he had threaded but it would not shoot with the suppressor worth a darn. Without it was a shooter.

So I don't know much about this, and my suppressor isn't mission critical on this rifle. But with that said, does anybody know if I should even bother threading it?

Just seeing if anyone has a used one they’re looking to part with before I snag a new one.

My son wants to get into longer range shooting. He has a Ruger RPR in 6.5Creed. For his birthday I wanted to get him one of the 35x scopes with a 56mm bell. The RPR has a 20 MOA rail, and I’m looking at either a Leupold Leupold Mark 5HD 5-25×56 with the PR2MIL reticle, or the Vortex Vortex Razor HD GEN III 6-36X56 with the ERB7d reticle. If he likes shooting long range, he is thinking about getting a rifle in a more dedicated long range caliber.

With the 6.5C, how far could he shoot with a 0MOA mount?
How far with a 20MOA mount?
How high of a mount to clear the RPR rail?
What about the ERTAC 25-45MIL variable scope mount?
DO any of these preclude using a 100 yard zero?

I wanted to re-introduce myself to the group. I joined the Hide back in 2014, introduced myself then, but just lurked and never really engaged with the community. My priorities changed pretty swiftly at the time so my LR shooting plans were put on hold. But, I recently retired from the Military and finally have the time and opportunity to start shooting long range. The local club I joined near me is opening a 1400+ yard range in the next few months among other things. No more 2-hour drive to shoot beyond 300 yds.
