Gents,
This one is no longer used. It has been in my stable since I purchased it directly from DRT last December. It has 9.5 years of warranty left on it, and it is an incredible piece of kit. There are Zero issues with it, I just use my Voodoo mx more and this one sits. My longest confirmed kill was on a yote that set up across a canyon that was sitting barking at us warning off the other yotes. I ended his non-sense at 727 yards with my 6CM. My calling partner and I could not believe that I connected. Yes, there was a bit of luck in that shot. We had to collect his ass the next morning as the hike across the canyon was to difficult to do under nods. Ask anyone on this forum, or dive into the reviews, this Thermal is way kick ass.
@CoryT built up a custom power cable for this unit that uses a power brick of your choice to power the thermal, and a Vortex Impact 4000. You really don't need it for the thermal, but the Impact definitely benefits from external power. Since I had the brick on the rail I figured might as well have the ability to power the ELR too.

I can get a slightly used Savage 10 FCP 26" HS Precision stock from a family Iknow. There kid is either scared of it, or they dont like him having it, or they all want it gone for some reason. I can get it fairly cheap, $500 -700 and transfer it out of there name. One my concerns is that people here at this site, don't seem to think much of Savages, and I don't know why. I usually don't buy used, but even if something was wrong with it, couldn't I get a premium aftermarket barrel for under 500 bucks, and probabaly have something very accurate ? Seems, Savage barrel swaps, are fairly simple, The rifle is large shank, and It wouldnt be a hunting rifle. Heavy or weight isn't a problem, mostly bench shooting, but prefer a detachable mag. Someone once told me the action screws were weakly placed on savages ( i dont know if thats true). Some advice would be appreciated on this. No sense in buying a cheap rifle (if thats the case), and drop $ and time into it, i'd be better off w/ something else under 2g. I've seen other threads like this, where people trying to keep it under 2g for a 300 prc, and Seekins, Bargar a,etc are suggested, but seldomly break down the reason why it's better than the 10/110 Savage. I'm not opposed to buying something else for under 2g, but would like to hear why or whats better about it. I tend to be behind in times, and I see alot of Chasis on these bigger calibers, so , unless they help much on accuracy over a quality traditional stock, I prefer to keep it traditionaal stock with pistol/drop down grip, and heavy barrel. I'd appreciate some suggestions/corrections on my thinking here ?

I have attended a few PRS matchs and will want to get a bit more serious, been thinking of getting a shot timer to get used to the times but am not shure.
What do you guys think, is there something to gain using a physical shot timer or is it fine with just an app?
Also, is it even beneficial?

BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. We, the people of Washington state, demand that every constitutional right be respected to the fullest extent. None of our rights should be at the mercy of sensationalized fear and emotional misinformation! House Bill 1240 was passed under the false assumption that it would cut down on the "explosion of gun violence" with no regard for not only the constitutionality of the ban, but also the house bill’s effect on law abiding citizens legally practicing inalienable rights. If we continue to restrict citizens and businesses from one of the most consistent, common, safe, and modern class of firearm in America, not only will be turning our back on the very constitution that this country was founded on, we also put more young or first time Washington state gun owners at a disadvantage, against those who had no intention in respecting any law in the first place. HS.1240 must be repealed due to its clear infringement on our second amendment right, although well intentioned, any weapons ban of any arms will only change the tool in which evil is carried out. Until we switch our focus from restricting the law abiding citizens to those who carry out that evil, and how they got to that point, we will never address the true underlining issues within our society.

In a weird twist of fate I have happened into 20 of these packs and have no real need for them. Selling these for $35 shipped each. They have a main pocket, a secondary front pocket and a small admin pocket. Made of durable materials. They have a plastic backer and foam board in the back to give it structure and padded rigidity. Willing to cut down on price for 3 or more purchased together because they will be shipped together. These would be ideal for emergency packs or bug out packs.

That does not break the bank. Not a govt profile. For an ordinary AR carbine. I am thinking in the $250-300ish range. I noticed a shortage of 16" barrels from my usual sources, including BCM, Primary Arms, and SOLGW when looking today. I am hoping others can recommend some other manufacturers that I may be overlooking.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Congressional Budget Office said Tuesday that it projects this year’s federal budget deficit to be $400 billion higher, a 27% increase compared to its original estimate released in February.

The major drivers of the change are higher costs from the supplemental spending package signed in April that provides military aid to Ukraine and Israel; higher than estimated costs of reducing student loan borrower balances; increased Medicaid spending; and higher spending on FDIC insurance after the agency has not yet recovered payments it made after the banking crises of 2023 and 2024.

The report also projects that the nation’s publicly held debt is set to increase from 99% of gross domestic product at the end of 2024 to 122% of GDP — the highest level ever recorded — by the end of 2034. “Then it continues to rise,” the report states.

Deficits are a problem for lawmakers in the years to come because of the burden of servicing the total debt load, an aging population that pushes up the total cost of Social Security and Medicare and rising health care expenses.

The report cuts into President Joe Biden’s claim that he has lowered deficits, as borrowing increased in 2023 and is slated to climb again this year.

The White House budget proposal released in March claims to reduce the deficit by roughly $3 trillion over the next 10 years and would raise tax revenues by a total of $4.9 trillion in the same period.

White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre, said after the report’s release that “the president is going to work to do everything he can when it comes to lowering the deficit,” adding that former president Trump “didn’t sign a single law to reduce the deficit.”

White House Senior Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates blamed tax cuts passed into law during the Trump administration for the deficit, which he says “continue to come at the expense of the American people by driving up deficits.”

Former President Donald Trump, as a candidate for president in 2024, recently told a group of CEOs that he would further cut the corporate tax rate he lowered while in office, among other things. The Committee for a Responsible Federal budget estimates that the 10-year cost of the legislation and executive actions President Trump signed into law was about $8.4 trillion, with interest.

Michael A. Peterson, CEO of the Peter G. Peterson Foundation, said the CBO projections show that the outlook for America’s critical national debt challenge is worsening.

“The harmful effects of higher interest rates fueling higher interest costs on a huge existing debt load are continuing, and leading to additional borrowing. It’s the definition of unsustainable,” Peterson said.

“The leaders we elect this fall will face a series of highly consequential fiscal deadlines next year, including the reinstatement of the debt limit, the expiration of the 2017 tax cuts and key decisions on healthcare subsidies, discretionary spending caps and more.”

Running a FL bushing die on 1x fired, annealed brass and then mandreling it after.

I know I don’t want to overwork the neck by squeezing it too much with the bushing and then mandreling it back out. But is there is a minimum or correct amount that I should re-open that case mouth? I’ve heard (online rumors) that the mandrel needs to open the case mouth at minimum 2 thousandths to “properly” work, apparently due to springback.

Hey Everyone,

New here, definitely lurked the threads before joining. I have a military background as a FO, nothing related to long range precision shooting but it has always been a huge interest of mine. I currently work for the FD. I am trying to learn as much as I can and gain as much knowledge as possible. I have a .223 PRS style AR platform build that I am using to get more comfortable with everything while still not breaking the bank account. I'm currently building a 6.5 creedmor to get a little more reach and eventually want to get into 300WM and beyond. I also am trying to learn reloading and have a simple set up I plan on upgrading, so it's awesome to see threads here for that as well.
I'm in the SoCal (trust me, I know. I'm stuck here for work) area near Pendleton so suggestions for good spots or a shooting buddy would be awesome. Thanks y'all
