For Those Shooting With A Front Bag Rest, Which One And How Snug?

With a front bag, how snugly should the bag hold the fore stock? Just wondering if it can be too snug and inhibit proper recoil (?). The stock on my range gun is 2 1/4" wide, so should the bag slot be that width, or maybe a little wider to facilitate proper recoil movement? Also, if anyone has any front bag/rest recommendations, would appreciate the tip. Thanks.

Accuracy International AXSR Chassis have landed...

Just got off the phone with EuroOptic and they now have AXSR Chassis in stock. They are working on pictures and updating their website. Cost is going to be 2k! Yikes

SOLD AXMC Package last drop

I purchased this accuracy international multi caliber (AXMC) rifle off the hide in late 2021, the previous owner purchased it new from Mile High in 2016.

In total the action has 1425 rounds on it. 415 on the 338 LM barrel and the rest on the 6.5 barrel. She’s barely broken in.

This is by far the most intuitive rifle I’ve ever been behind. It is extremely accurate and to be quite honest, it is my favorite rifle… ever. Only looking to sell to buy a couple of dedicated light weight hunting rifle and fund some additional projects. If money were no object, I would never part with this rifle.

There are a few wear marks are on the rail from bipod, bottom of the bag rider, some minor scuff marks on the grip and bolt race way(pics included), overall this rifle is in 8/10 cosmetic condition and 10/10 functional condition. Gun shoots 1/4 MOA or better (6.5CM 100 yd 5 round group in pics).

I'm asking $9.5k + shipping for the rifle package from my FFL to yours (lower 48) in original box or FTF in DFW area. Package comes set up as a functioning 6.5C with the following extras:
RRS mount, 338 barrel with TBA brake, pic rails, 338 LM mag box, 300WM mag box, 308 mag box, SA mag adapter, 300 Mag bolt body and 338LM bolt body.

Scope, bipod, and suppressor not included.

I will not part out at this time.

I will consider partial trades, mostly interested in PVS-30, high end scope, dedicated light weight 338LM or light weight 6.5C (Q Fix/mini fix or similar) + cash. May consider other partial trades.

Vorn Packs

http://www.vornequipment.com/

I know these are new but I think some of you have already purchased and using them. How are you liking them so far? How have you liked the QRR system, is it truly easy to get the rifle out, and what about putting it back in, do you have to take the pack off to get the rifle back in or does it slip in pretty easy with the pack still on? Are you able to strap on other accessories from other manufacturers or is it pretty proprietary? I'm looking into the pack for short hunts and hikes. Will the rifle carrier hold a Manners EH1 stock with DBM and AI magazine? Does it matter how big your scope is or is it designed to fit some of the bigger 5-25x56's? Finally, are any of the Hide dealers carrying the pack, where is the best place to purchase? Thank you.

Firearms CZ shadow 2 compact and extras

Two mags through to function check then cleaned and oiled and put away.

Got Lok palm swell black grips for it. Also added an acro p2, then added a streamlight TLR-7 HLX. Comes with original grips, as well as case, two mags, case for acro p2, etc.

Gun is perfect and the best fit and finish Ive seen in a CZ, just like to use it to fund a Terminus Zeus so off it goes.

I have $2000 into it with the grips, optic, optic plate, light.

Love to see $1500 for all included, or trade for a Terminus Zeus I can add cash. Or a Terminus Apollo and you add a little cash?

Badass DIY barrel cooler(s)

If you’ve tried one of the commercial offerings, you were probably disappointed with airflow, battery life, or the whole shebang. That inspired me first to buy a rechargeable mattress inflator on Amazon for about $25 and rig a plastic pipe elbow so that it will generally fit in the bolt raceway pointed towards the chamber. That thing blows air out the suppressor of a 26 inch barrel at between 5 and 10 mph and cools the barrel extremely well. The only problem being that it has limited battery life & takes a while to charge on a USB port, and will not run off of an auxiliary battery USB port when battery dead/charging. So when it's dead it's dead for several hours till you get it recharged. FWIW, it does last for about 40 minutes of blowing, which is a pretty good range day.

Then, my brother showed me that the toolmakers like Ryobi and Milwaukee are now making an accessory for the 18v lithium batteries that is basically a high velocity air blower. For cleaning out workspaces, inflating stuff, and whatnot. I got a piece of plastic tubing that likewise fits in the ejection port and up towards the chamber and just duct taped it to the nozzle head of the Ryobi blower and that sucker blows air out the suppressor end at like 15-20 miles an hour. It’s ridiculous, how much air it blows. It will blow for several hours on one charge and I’m sure you have spare batteries in your truck like I do.

Now I can run those 20 shot groups that the Hornady guys were talking about on podcast 50 lol. Seriously though. 10 shots. Cool. Repeat.

PRS Talk PRS Tac Class 308 Win

Anyone in here actively compete in Tac Class? Ive finally put my 308 rifle together and just curious if im thinking the wrong way here. Ive bought quite a bit of the 177SMK and have little load data on them but have found 2 nodes with these around 2600 and one around 2690....I can push them harder but since most of the matches are 1000yds or less is it really needed? I have always bought bullets on the heavier end of the spectrum and then tried to shoot them at max distance just trying to find the limits of the cartridge but it is seeming like some of the guys are having good success with the 155 bullets in which i have never tested. Is there enough positives to actually try to switch over to these and what is your prefered bullet?

177s
Moderate recoil
545ish BC
2600-2700fps
Target splash
Dirt splash

155s
Less recoil?
520 BC?
2800+fps?
?
?

Just curious as to what is actually winning in this class as it seems like there is no coverage on anything but Open.

Cerakote for Small Areas: Pro Needed?

Ordinarily I pay no attention to people on the web who claim this or that characteristic of your weapon will make you more likely to be convicted wrongly, because they're usually blowhard ignoramuses, but I saw a great video from a couple of lawyers who actually defend people who use guns, and it has me thinking about painting my pistol slides.

They said it's not rare for idiots to falsely accuse people of brandishing guns. It's easy to fool the cops, because when they ask people to describe what they saw, they always say "black" or "silver." The attorneys showed a disgusting pink gun in their video and said it was a safe bet, because no one is going to say "pink" when making a false accusation.

I am not going to have my pistols painted pink, but I think it might not hurt to put a big yellow band on each one's slide. Not the whole slides. Just enough to be obvious when the pistols are drawn. I have no need to camouflage anything, so it doesn't bother me if the guns are conspicuous.

Here is my question: is this something that is easily done at home with something like Cerakote, or is it best to find a pro and have him apply it?

I don't want to fool with rattle cans or other things that will come off in daily carry.
