Fun with the Phone Skope and my 300 win mag at 800m, 1000m and 1 mile

They turned out pretty good... mirage sucked because its Arizona and winter is still 90 degrees. I had a few videos from 1 mile as well, but cant see or hear the hits due the heavy wind, only able to see the misses where it kicks up dirt. I posted the one that turned out well.

Gotta love seeing gray dusting after a bullet impact! Cool videos.The trace on your 1000yd video was excellent!
Looks like you had a little left to right mirage going on. How much wind were you holding?Dialing? I'm guessing a 3mph wind?

Kestrel reported 5-10 mph with gusts, but I shoot in a valley so its tough as the wind at the end can be completely different (I leave my steel out there, so I dont have flags). It got worse as the day progressed, which is why I didnt upload the 1 mile vids. Kestrel called for holding 1 mil, I ended up holding about 1/2 at 800m and 3/4 at 1000m. the 1 mile shots were all over and wind was 15 mph to where it killed the mic on my iPhone with noise. Last week at a mile I was on for about 80% of the shots, couldn't do better than 50% today. Part of why im selling my rifle is to get something with a 27-28 inch barrel and try the 230s to see if I can get some better gains at those distances...

why sell the rifle and not just rebarrel?

Value mainly... the money I’d sink into a barrel, machine work, coating etc I will never see again, where as buying a factory aics or mrad I can get out of if I change my mind.
