I can tell you every fireman I know has a whole lot of respect for linemen. And it's because of dangerous shit like this. Never seen this in person, but have seen linemen work in some bad conditions, all hours of the day.
Linemen have a lots of respect for Firemen too. I know I certainly do. My hats off to every one of them.

I saw that kind of stuff when I was in Hurricane Harvey with my FEMA Task Force rescue team. 31 years in the 911 business and much respect to linemen.

We had a tornado come through our city two years ago. City looked like it had been carpet bombed. Big transmission lines down for the linemen, and structural collapses for us. We got so backed up in calls, ten other fire departments had to come into our city to help us answer calls.

The last call we ran at 0330, the lady said she called the power company 7 hours ago, but they hadn't shown up. She had no idea a tornado passed less than half a mile from her. Sparking transformer, I told her "linemen don't put out structure fires, and we don't touch power lines."
