Just saw it. It's extremely good. Better than the OG, IMO. I suggest seeing in the theatre for the sound pressure you don't generally get at home.

One gripe though. Not much of a spoiler but scroll past if you're worried. I'll post it below.

My one gripe. The enemy was never stated. Just generally as a "rogue nation enriching uranium". Pick a bad guy and don't worry about the push back. But that's just me. Carry on.

I'll keep an eye on Netflix.

I won't step foot in a "movie theater" again. They are turning the one closest to me into a self-storage place. They served their purpose.

There are so many technical errors, as a pilot it's almost a comedy.
It's a movie, not a documentary. Of course they are going to make stuff up to make it look a lot more exciting on the screen.

It's a good movie, good cinematography, decent story line, Jennifer Connelly is smoking hot. Not the best movie of the year, but better then 99% of the sequels out there.

And about the bad guy of a unknown nation, the original was like that too.

The original was pretty obvious it was Russkie commies. The red stars and all.

    I enjoyed the movie.
I am happy to see some movies in the theater for the experience. Large screen, sound system.

She, no one, did not loose that loving feeling.

I thought it was well done. I've watched a couple of shows about making the original and it made a lot of sense. There was a lot in both the original and Mav that was just for a plot. Getting to film the stunts took a lot of give and take on what the military would let them do (safety parameters and such) vs what the writers wanted.

All and all I was entertained and enjoyed it.

    One spoiler below...

I loved the kid saying he was on Earth...

So can we assume this movie is Iran since they are the only country that flys F14's?
I get why they didn't say what country it was, because it will bring nothing to the movie.
I think they are the only ones and prolly a good assumption.

Side Note: They did a pretty darned good job of placing some realistic looking SU-57s into the last of the movie. Even the dogfight scene where one pirouetted to get his nose pointed back at the F18 looked really good.
Russia can't even field the 57s in numbers yet at home much less export to sand dwellers or base their own there.

Not a T.Cruise fan but one of the best entertainment movies I've seen in a long time.

I was referring to the original.

I won't be watching the new one until it's on Netflix or similar.
