Fraud is bad, and anyone committing it to the determent of others should be prosecuted.
That being said, can anyone explain to me who the victims were of this alleged fraud, and then explain why they haven't already come after Trump? If he misstated property values or whatever, it seems like that'd be a civil matter between Trump and the counterparty (presumably a big bank, which presumably would have a legal team well-equipped for such a matter).

That is basically my question as well. Don't these big banks and insurance companies do their own due diligence and come up with their own valuations before doing these types of deals? I'm not a billionaire land mogul, but I can't believe I could just walk in, give them the address to a vacant lot I owned somewhere, tell them the lot was worth some vastly inflated amount of money and they would just take my word for it.
And when it comes to placing a value on property, who is the ultimate authority on that properties worth if not the owner and bank/insurance provider they are doing business with? What metric is being used to say this or that valuation is out of line at such and such point in time?

According to a report by Hannity, there supposedly is a clause in all of these agreements in question that essentially says that the stated valuations are their (Trump, et al) values and that the other entity has the fiduciary responsibility to do their own appraisals. These valuations are subjective so how can they be criminalized (or be civil violations)? And apparently all of the loans in question have been paid in full.
