You have to know that Nato Europe is every bit as much of a paper tiger as Russia. Germans, French and the Brits together field 500 tanks, Germany has less than a dozen combat-ready airplanes, the whole attack helo fleet is grounded as is much of the Transport fleet, all submarines are out of commission undergoing repair. Brits don't have enough missiles and torpedoes to deploy with, they are literally rotating ammo from one ship to another when it deploys. They also just cut the size of armed forces ,due to budget woes.
Rember NATO Europe ran out of bombs and missiles a week into bombing Libya.
Not to mention we have about 5 days' worth of ammo , that was before we shipped everything into Ukraine, right now stocks are lower than ever before.
Eastern Europe just disarmed by selling the tanks and APCs to US and Germany to be donated to Ukraine same with the helos that were sent to Ukraine , will take couple of years before donated gear is replaced. Poland might be signing all sorts of contracts for billions upon billions but that gear will take years to be delivered.
Right now the military capability of EU forces is probably at its lowest point ever, so unless you expect US to ship over 300-500k soldiers and gear to fight a war in Europe , nothing is going to happen.
