How fucked up are you when you're projecting you own mental health issues onto animals?

Is that like non-munchausen munchausen syndrome by proxy??

Notice that she uses PhD in her profile. She's probably like 90% of the head shrinkers out there and got into psychology to self-diagnose.

ETA: Ahhhh--I don't do Twitter and didn't realize that she's just trolling. I guess I've seen too many fucked up posts for something that ridiculous to automatically trigger my 'bullshit' response anymore.

A PhD is not a Shrink
  • A PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) is a doctoral research degree and the highest level of academic qualification you can achieve.
  • A psychiatrist is a physician who specializes in psychiatry, the branch of medicine devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, study, and treatment of mental disorders. Psychiatrists are physicians and evaluate patients to determine whether their symptoms are the result of a physical illness,

Right. A Psychiatrist has an MD and can prescribe drugs. The others cannot.

A psychiatrist can lock you up against your will.
A psychologist (in AZ) can prescribe drugs, but NOT lock you up.

Interesting... Do the psychologists in AZ get DEA #'s so they can write prescriptions, independently? Where I used to live, only licensed MD, DDS, DMD, etc. can obtain a DEA# and write scripts that would be honored by a pharmacy.

I guess there are lots of caveats before a psychologist can issue in AZ. I thought it was all, but it's not. They must have additional stuff.

Prescribing Psychologists

  • Required to have a PsyD or PhD.
  • Required to have a 2 year Masters in Psychopharmacology
  • Required to have supervised clinical hours under a currently licensed prescribing physician
  • Required to pass licensing exam

  • Required to have a PsyD or PhD.
  • Required to have a 2 year Masters in Psychopharmacolog <-- Quite important, in order to know about all the drugs you could prescribe and their effects, etc. etc But probably not a full year long pharmacology class an MD/DDS/DMD would have to take.
  • Required to have supervised clinical hours under a currently licensed prescribing physician
  • Required to pass licensing exam <--- Probably what gets them their DEA #..

The reason I know about this is:

1) I'm a retired EMT and was a PIT (Paramedic in Training) Even we almost had to have a full pharmacology course to know about the drugs we might encounter in the field that our patients might be taking, combined with the drugs we'd have to administer (including Controlled Substances), You'd be amazed at all the controls and documentation we had to go through to administer Narcs like Morphine Sulfate. And you had best get it absolutely perfect, or the DEA would be all over your a$$.

2) My dad was a dentist (DDS) and had his own DEA#, as he would often have to prescribe Narcs and other controlled substances for pain mgt., combined with the drugs he'd administer for analgesia/anesthesia.

Hell, where I used to live there were (at the time) no such thing as "Physicians Assistants..." primarily because the MDs always wanted to keep control over everything and get paid for everything. So, no way would a "psychologist" be allowed to get a DEA# and prescribe.

German climate activists glue themselves to the conductor’s stand at a concert. The stand is removable so they were taken offstage and the concert continued after a 30-second interruption.

Eject them from the building and let them figure out how to get free on their own time.
