Thoughts/recommendations? I’m trying to decide which route to go. Will be chambered in 22 creed and will be a thermal gun on a tripod primarily.

I think the xlr envy without weights is an excellent hunting rig, and the mdt acc is heavy and bulky and better suited for a prs match, not a hunting application
And you aren’t thinking of the element instead of the envy?

Personally I think it comes down to personal preference. I find on my mdt I’m a bit more vertical head with thumb on the side, I find myself laying my head over and wrapping my thumb on my xlr. Both are comfy, not sure I’ve developed a real preference.

Yeah, you're correct. I have element and an mdt acc, and I thought that was what we were talking about. Whoops.

So let me see if I understand this...
They're 6-8 months behind on orders, but let's take the time to build 10 specially configured chassis's that are not pre-sold and make our customers that are backordered wait. Yeah, that makes sense. No wonder manufacturing in the US is in the shitter.

You are funny. Maybe partly correct too, but I suspect there’s more to it than the simplified, somewhat whiney sounding way that you put it.

Oh, and manufacturing in the US, same as in every other country right now that was put “in the shitter” by globalist policies designed to do just that. Let me see you start up a manufacturing company right now and then try to secure the resources to keep up to demand, assuming that you do have a product that is in demand. Try finding the people, metals, machines and other raw materials needed. Then make sure that the global supply chain doesn’t screw you and leave you waiting and wanting any or all of the above.

I’ll wait.

Lash, whatever you do , don't hold your breath, you'll wind up dieing before I get a manufacturing facility going. I have experience in manufacturing and in running businesses. Right now is tough for both.

My apologies to the OP for derailing your thread. I have the acc but as of yet have not sampled the envy. I hope to some day real soon.

I personally don't like metallic chassis/stock for hunting. I find them to be noisy and cold on the fingers

I agree. I have a new ACC waiting for me to pick up, thanks to Black Friday sale. I e always been a traditional stock guy, especially for hunting. But for belly or match shooting this ACC chassis is the shit!

And sorry OP, but I also cannot speak to the envy, since I’ve not been behind one.

I recently bought an ACC and an older Xlr envy, not the pro.

I liked both but ended up liking the XLR better and traded my ACC for a new envy pro.

The envy seemed stiffer, I like having a night vision bridge to wrap my hand over and the ACC bridge wasn’t as comfortable as the XLR and I didn’t like the way it mounted, I prefer the adjustable thumb rest on the XLR but I did like how the ACC was thinner or closer to center line where your thumb goes but didn’t like the thin shelf and it’s location/angle. I liked the buttstock better on the ACC as far as how it adjusted but the Xlr is very comfortable just more work adjusting it. Liked the barricade stop better in the ACC, and I think the ACC looks better.

Hope some of my rambling is useful, I would be perfectly happy with either but slightly prefer the Xlr.

I would choose an envy pro or a matrix pro before the acc. The acc is way to flimsy and requires almost full internal and external weights to stiffen it. ACC was happy to force you to buy another $500 in accessories to make your $1300 chassis serviceable.

I wouldn’t say the ACC is flimsy, but it definately flexed more than the envy, also the forend was longer on the ACC providing more leverage. My ACC had only the internal weights and was plenty stiff, without the internals it was pretty flexy though.

What's the tuning fork issue? I've only fired a rimfire in mine. I have a second one sitting here that I plan on using for centerfire. I haven't noticed any significant flex. Where does it flex?
You can sort of twist the forearm, throw it out on a bipod and twist the grip. On my center fires they just have a harmonic ring to them when empty, it’s a big hollow box made of relatively thin aluminum. Not much but it’s there. I saw it more through the scope than felt it. Everything sorta shimmered during the boom.

Never really bothered me when it was happening but now that I’m weighted up it doesn’t happen anymore.
