Good luck with the TKR mate, I had one 2 years ago that did not go well. Had a complete overhaul of it by a different surgeon 10 days ago. Hoping they got it right this time because the other one also needs doing.
That "back among the living" feeling will subside in about 4-5 days when the upper leg nerve shot wears off. I was lucky.....took almost 10 days and the 'wall came tumblin' down"! Hang in there it'll get better. I'm about 3 months out and walking (limping) without a cane now. Good luck to ya!

My son told people that growing up with me as a dad was harder then Air Force Boot Camp.

His big sister punked the Air Force guy giving the brief.

HA. My dad did a stint as an instructor at Fort Jackson after Korea. Told him I was enlisting in the army. "Hell no you ain't." Okay, Marines. "Nope. Navy or AF." He didn't have an especially fun tour in Korea. Slept with his eyes open.

Went to see the Navy recruiter and the door was locked. AF SSgt next door said, "Hey, come on in. He'll probably be back soon."

The front lot was full also.
The 1st power tour came through Goodland KS but wasn't planning on stopping. I was going to tech school up there and got my instructors to help me get ahold of Drew Harding at Hot Rod. We offered up the tech school (so they could work on their rides if need be). Best friend and I went along with them to Salina KS in his 55 Chevy. Fantastic time.
