Small bore cannons

Its all about scale. just like Sirhr eluded to. A couple people around me have golf ball cannons. Low pressure cheap to shoot. Much more like a salute cannon rather than a "real one pounder"

Do not trust just anybody with cannon info. Find someone that actually knows what is going on. Too many "it will be fine" scenarios out there. Cannons are not cheap.

Some cool cannon.

I’ve crewed some, but don’t own one (yet). A good group check out is the Black Powder Cannon and Mortar page on Gray Beard’s Outdoors Forum. It is sponsored by Seacoast Artillery. Defenitely read all of the pinned threads first.

Cannonmn, Zulu, Domonic, and double d are a huge wealth of information, especially on history.

For fun little cannons Peterson Arms in Florida makes some good scaled cannons and a full sized Mountain Howitzer for a good price. All smooth bore stuff but it will get you into it.

Neighbor made a golf ball sized bore black powder cannon and put a rail and red dot on it. Will shoot a golf ball through 2 1/2" sheets of plywood, a 50 gallon drum and across the cow pasture. Fun toy to play with setting up steel and sighting it.
