what exactly can a congressman do for you to help you in this scenario? im not very familiar.. and what would be their incentive or even care what is happening with atf queues?Have you contacted your congressman? After I got to 300 days I did so and it was fairly simple

Very convenient target as the FBI NICS does NOT publish any contact info.I was just reading that the ATF was blaming long lead times on the FBI background checks. I don't know - clearly something isn't right.
No matter what your legislative asshole's (House or Senate) views on guns is (and I live in the deep blue state of Maryland), they all have constituent services weenies to handle inquires like this.what exactly can a congressman do for you to help you in this scenario? im not very familiar.. and what would be their incentive or even care what is happening with atf queues?
I was over 300 days on my way time and I contacted Andy Harris. He has a place on his website for problems with federal agencies. I already knew from emailing the ATF that after over 300 days the FBI has not cleared my Nics. After about a week they sent me a release form of some sort to fill out in about another week after that my suppressor was approved. I then got an email from the congressman saying that my Nics had been approved. So the ridiculous part for me is that the fbi took nearly a year for the Nics which we all know is very simpleNo matter what your legislative asshole's (House or Senate) views on guns is (and I live in the deep blue state of Maryland), they all have constituent services weenies to handle inquires like this.
In my case, where ATF just kept saying "pending", when my Senator's office inquired then the ATF came back and said I was on hold with the FBI NICS for three months...and yes, there is no other way to find this out as the FBI doesn't publish any contact info and doesn't want your phone calls or emails.
ATF said contact FBI as if that was feasible.
Long story short, ended up that after pinging the FBI, my NICS check was cleared within a day then ATF issued my stamp within a week.
May/may not work for others.
I was a USAF officer (yeah, back when we were still flying biplanes), have held security clearances as both mil and civ, and have NO FBI file whatsoever. Nonetheless, I tired of the FBI NICS shenanigans (yeah, put on NICS hold routinely, lifted from 15 minutes to next day...assholes) so I got a UPIN. Haven't used it yet, but if I get put on hold with NICS with a UPIN...which is a pre-clearance process, right...I'll prob go on war path with Senator again.
Fucking government at work. sigh
If the whole thing made any sense there would be no reason for the ATF. They don't know any better and are not interested in 'fixing' it.I was over 300 days on my way time and I contacted Andy Harris. He has a place on his website for problems with federal agencies. In all honesty, "fixing it" means they lose $200 a pop, and the NFA and ATF go bye-bye...And they're standing in the unemployment line.If the whole thing made any sense there would be no reason for the ATF. They don't know any better and are not interested in 'fixing' it.
Bro, I'm at 223 for a Polonium 556, and I'm definitely no stranger to the ATF... and yeah, I agree, should be a cash & carry. If I can get an instant approval for a gun in a 5 minute phone call to NICS, why can’t they do the same for cans? The 4473 is the traceable registration, just like a firearm transfer. So, why can they not streamline this system?Salvo-12

This is can #8 for me, so waiting isn't a surprise. They're government-employed bureaucrats that have zero recourse for being completely inept at their jobs. They're not worried about getting in a hurry to do shit. Most of them are still working from home despite the Kung-Flu being over for a couple years now.
Here’s my currently pending day counts…

There's always a caveat, but for them, it's almost as big of a pain in the ass to get the guns to use them on, as it is for us to get the cans... Not in Switzerland, of course, but in Britain. In Switzerland, its like a 2 week wait for approval to buy a "verboten" weapon, including new full-autos, cans, etc... And barrel lengths don't matter anywhere else on earth that I'm aware of, only here in the Unites States of Regulations. This is can #8 for me, so waiting isn't a surprise. My last one took 14 months.
But when I look across the Atlantic and see the Brits and Euros paying $50 at the corner hardware store and walking out with them, well that pisses me off.

Exactly. That's because people are retarded and believe everything they see in Hollywood movies, instead of reality, and finding out for themselves. They also think guns go "pew pew".You're right.
Anywhere else, it's rude to shoot without a can. Here, they 'serve no purpose but for assassins'.
Wait, y’all aren’t assassins too? Excuse me I have some stuff to delete. You're right.

Thinking I'm going the same route as you and will add a Flow 762 TI to the mix as well. Jay's numbers at Pew Science are flat out impressive on these cans!I have the flow 556k and 762 flow in jail currently, pretty excited for both.
