It must be ok to use lethal force on someone breaking into your vehicle?

Well, in Idaho, if you are in the vehicle, then usually yes, you can shoot. But this was in DC, so...
Is this a fill in the blank. Being as its DC I reckon your options are.

1-get robbed
2-Get assaulted
3-get murdered
4-Car stolen to a chop shop

And the cops saw nothing.

I am disheartened. I have actually read two books on the secret service, specifically, the presidential detail. Usually former military, many times, special forces. Though agents can carry other weapons, they were, at one time, issued Sig Sauers.

And trained. The job is to evade and protect. Not miss at a minute of vehicle.

I am no fan of Biden but that is pretty brazen. Or just plain stupid. Or both.

Had a neighbor (the neighborhood bully who thinks of himself as the Sheriff of the Road) block me in my drive because he was mad at me (over something his dogs did, not I).

Was emptying trash, he followed us. I dropped a rake out of the trailer and after picking it up, i saw him chewing out my Brenda. Told him to get his hands off of my truck. Then called him a liar and a crook (have evidence in writing that both claims are true). then got in my truck and started to leave. He jerked my truck door open telling me I could not talk to him that way while raising his fists. (Did not cuss him or use inappropriate language, just called a spade a spade)

Well the end story, I am very happy I was not carrying. I swear, I would have shot him dead on the spot. Instead, I eased out of the truck, stared him face to face, he got that look on his face and turned and left. I think he realized that I was tired of hIm and his trash.

Second End of story, he went to a neighbor’s home and screamed, cussing to her about me. It was funny, but I felt for poor Faye who had to listen to his shit.

Oh, my violation…his dogs came to my property (in violation of the Louisiana Leash Law) took two deer legs with tags on them, and he did not like it that now he had to put up with the smell. Said he found where I had dumped the deer remains. What he actually found, I do not know, the tagged legs where at my shop, waiting to be disposed.

Saddest part of all. Had a rat problem in my shop and had put out plenty of rat poison. I have seen dogs die from eating rat poison of the type I was using. It is a horrible death for the dogs and I would not do that to anyone’s dog. Had I known the dogs were left to roam at night, I would have done my best to get the rat poison cleaned up.

He sounds like he was a prime candidate for a right hook to the ribs, when he was in front of you.

I would have aimed for the jaw, to shut him up, but my stare down, apparently put the fear of GOD in him and he has since left me alone.

(Apparently, my standing over him by six inches, 40 pounds, ten years less age and it is well known that around the neighborhood that I am in excellent shape for a man of my age, standing up to him, made him realize that he had screwed the pooch.).

Even if it was your own vehicle, you try that and see what happens. Police used to(maybe still do) carry 'drop' guns. Not a bad idea today either.
