Only partially true - yes, he was a slave owner. He attained great wealth after completing his term as an indentured servant and has been referred to as "'the black patriarch' of the first community of Negro property owners in America".

Was cleaning up my workbench ( it’s a fucking mess) and found a detent pin. “Oh, that’s where that went.”
I learned quickly that if you’re going to mess around a bit with ARs, buy a bunch of detent pins and other assorted lower hardware. It’ll save you grief today and later.
