I'm a big fan of Hornady but lately I'm using ppu and fiocci. They have the same ballistics and $4-5 cheaper, I'm a high volume paper shooter really don't see the difference other than price. Any comments
I've only used Hornady "Critical Duty" 9mm when I lived in the PRNJ and could not use JHPs. Once I relocated to FL, it was Federal all the way. First, American Eagle 9mm 115 for range practice (which I still use, along with AE 230gr .45acp), but I moved onto Federal 9mm Hydra 124 gr and then 147 HST JHPs for EDC. I actually still have a box of that original Critical Duty left.
It really depends on caliber. Some PPU is quite good for 3 gun in 5.56 and 9mm. They also offer decent hunting ammunition for meteic cartridges. I’ve killed quite a few deer with their 6.5 Swede soft point.
Fiocchi runs dirty for me and it’s a little anemic over the chrono. Decent for practice sessions.
Now I only use Hornady in the Grendel. Practice ammo is CCI or Federal (revolvers). Duty ammo is Federal HST. No choice on that one.
you've tried both and don't see a difference, who cares what internet weirdos think.
I too, am a fellow poor who cares more about trigger time than brand names.
