Understood, but once all the contents are "deployed," how does each individual recruit get their own items back to repack? Especially the smaller toiletry items that might not have their name on them?

Slight correction: Bottom row, middle. That's not just cowboy style cops. That describes all of us big bore hawg leg afficionados. The longer the barrel, the more affinity he has for the out-of-the-way and less taken paths, and the probability that he also has a lever action rifle in the same chambering greatly increases as well...

A healthy sense of humor and being able to roll with abrupt changes to your environment and adapting to do your best is REQUIRED for everyone in the Armed Forces of that time. The current day "kinder and gentler" bullshit is gonna send us into the same realm as the dinosaurs while our enemies are building and testing actual fucking Terminators and Slaughterbots. The whole point of the training, right down to the "pandemonium" is actually part of the whole guidebook. The DIs are acting a role, and doing it very convincingly, and the purpose is to snap mofos out of their comfort zones constantly so they do not get complacent. Because complacency is LETHAL on a real battlefield.
