Just pulled the trigger on a Bergara B14 Wilderness Hunter in 6.5 Creed. I also ordered a Carbon 6 20” barrel for it (6-8 month lead time). Planning to throw it in a Magpul Pro 700 folding chassis. Looking to make this a precision hunter/intro comp rig. Hoping this rifle will be reliable enough to attend a precision rifle class and be reliable to run in the occasional comp. What are your thoughts?

I just built up a Savage 110 308 Win in a Magpul Hunter stock with a SWFA fixed 10 on top that will consistently shoot .5-.75 MOA groups at 100 with Hornady ELD-X 178’s. I really like this rifle and feel confident in taking shots on game out to 500 yards, but the action is a bit clunky and the bolt throw is super heavy even with a large bolt handle installed. No extraction/feeding issues so far (knock on wood).

I wouldn’t want to attend a class or compete with the Savage, so I’m hoping the Bergara will be a step up and be worthy of some hard field use. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I couldn’t be happier with this rifle, eventually I’ll throw a different barrel on it, but this is how it sits currently…
