Going to hit a 22 match for fun this weekend and to stress myself out it's with zero prep. Anyone have a BC for SK Rifle Match or Wolf Match Target? I can confirm velocity when I zero in the morning but before then I'll have zero chance to check anything. I've seen for the most part 0.132 is the best average but saw people using as high as 0.170.

    Past velocity:
    SK RM: 1003, 74.1es, 18.1sd (20 round string)
    Wolf MT: 1083, 28.9es, 8.5sd (20 round string)

My preference is the Wolf MT, been most consistent/accurate but my next best that I have enough of is SK RM.

As a general aside to the question, knowing the BC value of different rounds is only part of the picture.

Those interested in trying to calculate or predict trajectory and POI based on MV and BC should be aware that, wind aside, there is at least one other important factor that will influence results by 100 yards.

Without going into details, it's not a straightforward or simple matter to take everything important into account and consequently actual target results (POI) will not always be explained by ballistics calculations that include only MV and BC.

.130-.135 is a good starting number. You also need to look at bullet length in your kestrel. It will default to a 168g 308 bullet. you need to pull one and insert that number there. Also measure one of your bullets diameter and insert that. it might be .223 or .222 instead of the generic .224 most use. Every little bit of CORRECT data you can put in is better. Your average velocity should be checked over 40-50 rounds. Thats 1/2 of an average match so it's a good trusted number.

DSF should be done to 300y if your matches will carry that far. I have 2 profiles in my kestrel. You can only have 6 DSF Points per profile and they must be worked in order from NEAR to FAR. If your POI/POA is where it needs to be on a yardage you need to adjust by Plus or Minus .01 on the dial it called for. I verify each data point with 3-5 shots.
    #1 is 200y and IN. 50y ZERO, 75y DSF, 100y DSF, 125y DSF, 150y DSF, 175y DSF & 200y DSF.

#2 is 200y and out. Repeat all the info above but the extended yardages. Duplicate the 200y & in profile and re name it 200y & OUT.
    225y DSF, 250y DSF, 270y DSF, 290y DSF & 310y DSF, then ill do 325y DSF.

Then you want to backup all that data to your phone. I am adding info here that you did not request, but some over look the small things. You might not even be using a kestrel for your ballistic solver.

@Defender32 nope I welcome that. I'll add what I can go my kestrel. The info you provided though I'll for sure use when I get the time to run it so definitely appreciated. This time crunch is not how I do things typically but last minute decision...

@Rob01 yes this is for the match this weekend. I believe I'll be one of your glassing ROs so I'll likely see you. Pretty small group compared to his centerfire matches.

Cool. Yeah not as many people just like to shoot matches compared to chasing their points. Lol And now that Frontline was kicked out by the shortsighted PRS owner dujour Paul won’t get the points chasers so will cut down on numbers. Their loss.

Yea, curious to see his numbers in April. He had a good turnout last match but you know what happened(won't air it here). I'll be there at least lol.
