20" barrel 6 Dasher/BRA/BR?

I've been thinking about running a 20" barrel on my 6mm instead of the normal 28". Anyone else running a shorter than usual barrel on their 6mm? I looked at GRT real quick to get an idea of the trade off, and it would put be at around 2600 fps running Berger 105. Reason I'm looking at going shorter is that a 28" barrel + 8" suppressor puts me in an awkward position when moving and just gets ridiculous.

I was thinking of do this for my daughter first rifle I have 6cm in night stalker it might be a little much on recoil for her first centerfire rifle. I think the dasher at 20inches would be pretty good and still get okay velocity.

The last 6-BR barrel I had was a proof cut to 22".
Using the same powder charge as my 26" Criterion, it was within 5fps of it.
Cut that bad boy and rock on.

I run 28in prs barrels with 7" cans 2 matches a month, no issues. You'll def lose some speed, I'd think you'd still be able to rub 2700-2740fps with a 105.

I’ve got a 6gt I cut from 26” to 20” for my daughter. Running a mild load I’m getting around 2750. Prior it was around 2870 same load. But really fun to shoot

I've got an 18" 6 creedmoor that'll do 2950 with 108 eldm over a stout charge & 3200+ with 87 vmax.

What are you trying to accomplish with the rifle? I assume since a 20” suppressed Dasher is an option, this isn’t any kind of competition rifle, so sure, 20” makes as much sense as anything.

I have a 10” 243win and a 15” 6 creed. I had a 14” 300 wsm for a while, and had a 11” 7 BR. All of it works.
