Hey All,

Just started making some kydex holsters for AW and AICS 10round mags. I'm planning on doing AR-15 GI and PMags. As well as DPMS LR-308 and 308 PMags. I will probably end up doing a few assorted pistols mags and 300WM AICS mags. Basically, anything that I have here.

Here's a few photos of what the AW magazine holsters look like. It is hard to see from the photos but the edges are all beveled to follow your body. The lips around the top are flared to allow the mags to be seated easier. Tension allows them to pulled without struggling, but the mag will not drop free when fully loaded and shook upside down.

Preliminarily, I'm thinking pricing would be $48 per magazine holster. Shipping would be $6.

Re: New Kydex AW/AICS Magazine Holsters

I googled Tek Loks. This slips over a belt and snaps shut? Maybe a pic of the backside would help me understand. But if is a snap over the belt setup, I'd be very interested.

You have any AR-10 mags laying around for a pattern?

Thanks.

The Tek Loks system is much like a clam shell design with adjustments for different thicknesses of belts (simple and rugged). Combined with BDS kydex design, it's sure to be a pretty sweet piece of kit.

It will when he adds holes to the bottom for sand, dirt, and water drainage... A really smart guy told him to add that

Tally up several sheets of multicam kydex, a $10 teklok, bag of rivets, a rivet flaring press and dies, kydex press with neoprene pads, grinder to shape the kydex and a toaster oven for heating kydex...then sink at least 30 minutes in each mag pouch, and if you can beat that price then start making! Good luck.

Nice stuff, Big Dog.

thats great, if your making 1... not bulk.. blade-tek makes the same thing for AR for 25 to 30$... just because these fit overpriced AI mags dont make them worth any more...

Re: New Kydex AW/AICS Magazine Holsters

Ring, you are right. Let me just go out to my giant Chinese kydex factory. Where I do everything in bulk with my giant kydex machining press, and I do 1k of the same part with one operator everyday so I can justify a low return per part, but do a high volume.

Oh wait, I forgot I don't have that. These are hand made, one at a time, right here in the US and not in some Chinese factory.

No one is getting rich on handmade kydex holsters, I assure you. Furthermore, I didn't ask for your opinion. I suggest you find the door.

BTW - The comparable blade-techs are $45 + $14 shipping and a 5 week lead time according to their website. It looks like mine are a bargain.

Who the hell are you to come shit in his thread? If you don't like the pricing or product then don't purchase them. But if you continue to shit in the thread your going to be gone.

Rich - Once the Commemorative Hitch Covers are all wrapped up... I will put a few of these up. I've got some extras done right now. They look great, but I wasn't happy with the hardware, mainly the tek lok screws being too long. I ordered some custom screws that should work better . They should be in about 2 weeks. They are the same thread, but shorter and black oxide coated stainless steel.

Any word on if they'll fit Alpha mags? I sorta unintentionally ended up with an alpha mag for my AICS. Works just fine, is smaller and potentially more square so it may not fit in these...

We are currently shipping mag holders. I know, I know...they are not on the website. I don't want to put them up on the site until I can build enough stock to make sure I can stay ahead of it. It could be a little while. You can still order what you need by PM'ing me. Once I know what you want I will forward payment instructions. It's pretty painless and I'm shipping most orders within the week.

@Big Dog Steel
Do you still make this style aics mag holder? I see you have a new style on your website now.

I used to make pistol holsters in another life out a material called holstex. And what big dog says about time and materials and equipment is so true. Would take me an hour from start to finish for just about any pistol, unless someone wanted something a little different then maybe a little longer but not much. Then if they werent local i had to buy a bluegun mold and that pretty much had me in the red. Fortunately i still habe the know how and materials to make my own. Sorry big dog
