I recently purchase an Altas bipod.
When mounting it on my DTA I noticed there as just alittle play when i attached it.
Tightening down the QD release screw fixed it but then moved it to a RRA quad upper and the play came back

On looking at it I noticed this

If you look you can see that the bracket on the right doesn't seat all the way it is a little thicker than the gap between the Atlas base and the QD Mount.

I was wondering if other people had noticed the same.

It works but seems like it is putting alot of stress on the screws between the QD Mount and atlas base.

Re: Atlas Bipod Quick detach question

I looked at a ADM mount and found the same thing, I could tighten the adjustment to where it would interfere with the Atlas mount. I did not need the ADM that tight to get it to work on several rails.

My question is do you need to tighten the ADM that far to get it tight to your rail of choice?

The two mating sections fit well and we have not changed our part specs so I'm wondering if this has always been the case or if ADM changed their dimensions which I'll ask about tomorrow.

Re: Atlas Bipod Quick detach question

It works well enough on my DTA rails but I can't quite tighten it enough on my RRA to eliminate a slight rattle.

It really isn't a huge deal I was mainly just curious if it was supposed to be like that or like you said did ADM change a part.

I figured worst case I could either machine down the base on the ADM wedge or machine out alittle material on the atlas base.

BTW I love the bipod it rocks.

Re: Atlas Bipod Quick detach question

Spoke to ADM and they have not changed their part and as we have not changed ours, I have to conclude this has been the case since we started using the ADM mounts, about 2 years ago.

Both ADM and B&T will be conferring on solution.

Regarding machining, as it is assembled and based on access alone, I'd pull the clamp part off the ADM and take about .01 off the bottom.
