CDI all the way. Jeff is a great guy and was very helpful when I ordered mine. I've got one of his DBM for a Savage 10 that had an accustock and the funky bolt release in front of the trigger guard. Pulled out the old, dropped in the new and life is good.

lol... like you have a lot of choice...
centerfeed... you have CDI and Accurate Mag
staggerfeed... you have CDI
there are others, but these are the only reasonable choices

CDI - uses AI mags requires stock inletting (most expensive $200 w/o mag)
Accurate-Mag - OEM, little to no stock mod, uses AI or Accurate Mags (middle priced $200 with mag)
RatMag - modified Axis mag by forum member z71rat (least expensive, members seem to like it, has the most limited cartridge length)
Everything else is crap or is sold by folks with poor CS.

Yes, overall cartridge length is the problem that gets ran into the most. My conversions will run a COAL of 2.850" and will function correctly.
Definitely the least expensive route out there is the best part!!

There's also Kevin Rayhill's bottom metal, it takes aics magazines as well and costs 200, and Kevin is a stand up guy.

Ok, since everyone is voting, I really really like the Accurate Mag bottom metal. Yeah, it's not quite CDI but neither is the model 10. It's a bit overkill unless you have the McMillan stock.
So lets go:
Accustock - RatMag

Ok, since everyone is voting, I really really like the Accurate Mag bottom metal. Yeah, it's not quite CDI but neither is the model 10. It's a bit overkill unless you have the McMillan stock.

Thats because his site hasnt been updated in years due to a terrible service provider, but that's supposed to change soon.
It takes AI mags and runs about 200 dollars with inletting. I ordered one and am waiting for it to arrive with the stock I ordered from them.

If you order from them BE PREPARRED to wait. Most likely you will talk to Lisa. She has no problem assisting people and is fairly knowledgeable on what Fred does. She is also very good at making excuses.
I ordered one of their fishnet bolts, bolt handles and a new trigger guard. She swore up and down that it was in stock and would ship in a day or two. The only thing that happened in a day, was my credit card being charged.
I more or less forgot about the order till my credit card bill came in and I saw the charge. I called and asked if the order shipped and she told me that it had not, but it should go out within the week. She said that Fred was working up a batch of bolts. He was working up a batch, after they were supposedly in stock when I ordered 3 - 4 weeks earlier.
Also be preparred to call multiple times to get through. Most of the time the phone is busy and a lot of time when not busy it won't get answered.
Fred does great work, and you will eventually get what you ordered. You also will be frustrated along the way.
I have had two dealings with them, and that is enough! I am going the DBM route on a Savage 10FP. I will not be doing business with SSS!

ETA: oops! I think you were referring to SSS. I was talking about Kevin Rayhill/Stockade. I've heard too many horror stories about SSS to even consider them.

Another +1 for CDI. I have CDI on an inlett B&C medalist running my 10FP in 308. It has run AI, Alpha and Ruger mags with no problems.
