Rifle Scopes What is the opinion of the Premier Light Tactical?

Re: What is the opinion of the Premier Light Tactical?

Mike at CS tactical likes it alot and he sells all of them. Never handled one but I do have the 3.5-15x full size and the 3.5-15x hunter. Yes, the glass is the same. Exceptional clarity.

I have seen this alot. It actually has 18mils, but when zeroed, the zero stop limits rotation to 12 mils.
For most any standard caliber rifle, 12 mils will take you out past 1000 yds.
If you want/need to go farther, a different scope may be in order.

I have 4 of them and have no complaints. Have them on a 243, 7WSM and a couple of 308s.

Love mine, it sits on a GAP 308. The lower profile turrets, lighter weight, simplicity, and quality glass sold me on it. For everything 1000 yards and in it's a beast. It's definitely in the conversation for the best scope at this price point. Bought mine from Mike at CS Tactical, great guy.

I love Premier glass. However, I also love the extra features on the Heritage model, and sure wouldn't want to give them up. Not sure on resale of the LT model, but you may wanba consider it...

For example, if the LT is $2350 new, and the PH is $3100...

I see 5-25 PHs go for ~2600 used, and 3-15s for ~$2100. If used LTs go for $1700 (wild ass guess) the cost of ownership is the less for the PH 3-15 than the LT.

If you were considering a new LT, perhaps a used PH for about the same cash outlay is the way to go? Personally, I'm all about used high-end optics, as they are guaranteed for life...let the original owner take the depreciation hit - that makes it free to own, assuming you don't really beat it up. Even if you do, there's always someone ready to jump on a "well used" one for a couple hundred bucks less than normal.

Just a few thoughts - all assuming cost was more of a factor for entertaining the LT, and not weight savings...
