This project kind of came out of nowhere recently. I have a 700 tactical in an XLR stock, and when my Leupold Mark 4 took a dump on me and needed fixing I decided to make some changes. I bought a new barrel blank (Rock Creek/ABS) 24" w/1:10 twist 5R. Courtesy of OHIOFARMER (who by the way is good to go). I called Mike Rock at Rock Creek today, and he offered me his services to true the action and, chamber the barrel, thread the barrel for my AAC Titan-QD (that I have been waiting 6 months for). I thought I would post some pics before I send the action and barrel off tomorrow. If you are wondering who did the paint, I did w/Cerakote. If you have any questions on a DIY, it is easy, and I find it very fun. This is the third Firearm of mine that I have done. I would be happy to give a how to if interested. For you 0317 guys, I left a little signature in my paint work (take a look at the backside of the cheek well)
Side note: I want to get my bolt fluted. It sounds like Feldcamp Customs is good to go. Any other suggestions or thoughts on that or names?
Any how the latest of my projects, just a fun post for me today!
