Here's a L/H Stiller LongHorn we started awhile back. It's a 6.5mm Winchester Short Mag set up for some rather nasty looking fully machined bulletzzzz. I forget the name of the manufacturer so forgive me.

Anyways, this guy always goes for broke on his builds. I think Kalli did one hell of a nice job on the paint.

Lets hope it drives 6.5mm holes through some critters that need killin.

    Parts List:
    Stiller L/H LongHorn action
Obermeyer barrel fluted by Mr. Kenyon
    Our brake
    Manners T5A stock
    Our single shot follower
    Kalli's paint work
    Jewel trigger
    Murphy base

    Here's the pics:

The 6.5 short mag is awesome...for about 500 rounds. And you need to clean frequently during those 500 rounds or fouling will destroy accuracy.

We'll see, I expect the throat to last a little longer than 500, but I didn't buy Chad a shiny new reamer for nothing... we'll get a setback or two.

The bullet MFG Chad "couldn't remember" is called Cutting Edge Bullets, the heaviest 6.5 they make as of now is a 130 (which still has a bad ass BC). I'm going to play with N570 for a little while & see what happens. Hats off to Chad & crew for another bad ass build, the pictures hardly do Kalli's paint job justice.

Edds, the reamer is set up for .299NK .140 FB 1°-30 as designed by Mr. Kiff.

Ran at the speeds its capable of...... it won't last much past 400-500. Ask Josh @ Copper Creek. He had one and switched over to 6.5 RSAUM.

KYS, it's all good brother, if I only get 500, I only get 500, we'll set it back & roll on.

This isn't a target rig. The RSAUM is a sweet little setup, I considered that for a while as well.

Just the appearance, it's coated in Cera-Kote Titanium Blue.

    Why thank you

That bolt handle it 100% Stiller. We didn't change anything... I don't know if it's part of the whole LoneStar package or what. I now have 2 Short Action LoneStars & the bolt handles are the same.

Enjoy shoting that beast! Being that it's a single shot WSM, even if your barrel life is shorter than most, it's not like you're going to be running 1000 rounds through it in a range weekend. Post up some range photos, please.

You're right,I should be able to chase the lands for a while. This is a dedicated Long Range Hunting Rig, not a range queen

When I get to the "break in" complete I will post some groups.

    Nice gun T J!
Another great job by Chad and crew.

Nice to see someone build a gun in a caliber they want and not worry about barrel life!
Barrels are a commodity that's why they are screwed on and not welded on!

That will be a awesome long range hunting rifle.

Thanks Glenn, I'm pretty stoked about it. Yes, I also view barrels as a consumable item. As long as I get the performance I expect out of it, I will be happy.
