I am looking in to getting a suppressor for my .338 but don't really know where to start. Does anyone have any recommendations or tips on what to look for in a suppressor? I will be using it mostly for target shooting if that makes a difference.

Re: .338 suppressors

Are most of you guys going direct thread on for 338s ?

Wanting to get one of these on the way myself. Just trying to think if I'd ever want/need to shoot it unsuppressed.

Re: .338 suppressors

Yep. Orderd mine through Ranger walker in Memphis Tn. Now the long wait. I did a LOT of reading and asking folks who know and have had experiences with all types of cans. End result, TBAC 338 ba was the choice for my TRG 42. I will use it on my TRG 42 in 300 win mag too. The most important thing that was preached to me was the accuracy and poi shift ( or lack of ) with the TBAC. This will be my first can from them and am anxious to see if it lives up to the standards I was led to believe it would.

Re: .338 suppressors

Would you post a few pictures of the GA Beast?
The only thing I can find is an architectural rendering.
I like that it's chromoly, which makes it lighter than the same in stainless.

You'll like it until the can you spent $800 + $200 and 8mos wait time starts to rust. There's a reason no one buys YHM chromoly cans any more.

Re: .338 suppressors

I love my thunderbeast 338 can. It is a thread on can. I don't like brakes or flash hider attachments on my bolt guns. AAC also makes a great 338 can. When I bought my thunderbeast the Aac can Ti can was almost twice as much. But they have lowered the price since then. You won't regreat the Thunderbeast!!!!!

Re: .338 suppressors

I also plan on getting another .338 suppressor soon.

I have an original thread-on Titan SS, 2" OD (outside diameter). Very nice device and very happy with it---I am just interested in another .338 suppressor.

AAC now makes all of their Titans with a 1.85" OD. Have heard great things about the Titan QD and curious about the soon-to-be released Titan Ti threaded.

Very interested in buying a TBAC, Shark, SAS, or the Titan (QD or Ti).

I have read the data on the TBAC and Shark, and it is impressive, but have not shot one yet. I know many people are happy with both. Does anyone have comparitive data on the Titan QD or SAS ???
Thank you.

Re: .338 suppressors

I have a 338P, and a 338BA that will be here by the end of the week. I'll post them up for sale ASAP. When I have them in hand.
Hope to shoot a 338P model this weekend with a customer.
