Hey All,

Wondering if you would be able to help me out in understanding how Cerakote works?

Will Cerakote affect the bedding of my action? The barreled action has already been bedded to my stock and I'm not sure if having the barreled action coated will affect the fit (too tight)?

Also does Cerakote on the inside of rings have any adverse affects on mounting an optic? Should the inside of the rings be masked off? What about the underside of my one piece base and it's fit to the top of the action?

Thanks!

Jake

Re: Cerakote - Regarding Bedding & Rings

Ceracoat is typically applied after an action has been bedded. It is thin enough to not have an adverse affect. The same could be said for the rings and base, although I have seen rings masked off on the interior.

I have cerakoted rings, afterwards I lapped it off. Cerakote is slick and I was afraid the scope could slide in the rings possibly. Just something I didn't want to happen whole up hunting.
